NOt to bring up Bison fans on this site (which I hate to do) but isn't their midset on this issue a little ironic? Now I will go on record saying that UND going FBS is a long shot. But isn't it funny how they ripped on RT, and UND fans that siad moving up to D1 for all sports was a mistake. And now that the conversation is started about football oving up, they are doing the same thing?!! Just seems kind of funny!

I think that if this game is announced (hopefully) that it will hit everyone by surprise. No one really knows what negotiations are going on except for Faison and Taylor. I mean, how mean how many people knew that NDSU and Weber were in talks for a home and home? It just happened.

Canada will not win the gold based on their play in their first 4 games. Right now, Sweeden, USA, and Finland are all playing better. Of course anything can happen in a US/Canada game, but right now I see them as the 4th best team left in the tournament.

In all 3 games Central bear Red River this year, they were all 1 goal games. And the last one was in OT!! TOugh to beat a team 4 times in year...expecially a team that has played you tough every time!

Ever think that the reason we lost to BC in the Frozen Four those years is becuase the team played better than us that day? And maybe it wasn't the coaching but maybe...just maybe the game was decided out on the ice by the players either executing or failing to execute!!!

Lets do a little comparison. Red Berenson, legendary coach at Michigan, is in his 30th year of coaching. In that time, he has 11 Frozen Fours and 2 National Championships. Dave Hakstol is in his 9th year as head coach at UND and has already been to 5 Frozen Fours. Now of course all of us fans of UND are frustrated with Hak not leading us to a National Championship in those 8 years, but consider this by comparison. Red Berenson's Wolverines did not even make the NCAA tournament the first 7 years he was coach. Also to put it in perspective, Berenson didn't win a National Championship until his 12th year at Michigan. Yes, we all as UND fans expect to win a National Championship every year. But lets just all cool down on the Fire Hak crap. He has put us in a position every year he has been here. We have been in the playoffs each of his years he has been head coach. Could you imagine a Hak lead UND hockey program that misses the playoffs 7 years in a row to start his career?!!! This thread would be 500 pages long!! Michigan saw they had a great coach and stuck with him. And guess what, it paid off to consistently making the tournament and producing a couple National Championships. So to sum up, all the Hak haters need to just put things in perspective!!

Especially if any of them are playing GF Central!!!

OK, maybe I should have used more smiley faces to show my sarcasm! :) Obviously we need a balanced offence with a passing game and a solid running game. I would like to see our Tight Ends get into the mix more this year.

Looking at the standings, it is very unlikely that the cup will be at anyones rink the last weekend of the year. League title could be decided the last game....heck, even a shootout!!

Almost forgot about the Sitting Bull Trophy!! I can see UND not wanting to put those trophies at the Alerus since they are really only there less than 20 days through the year. A more likely place would be atthe new HPC. That will be the home for UND football. IF that is the case, it would be nice to have it in a public accessable location.

Sooooo...the Nickel Trophy.....how bout we talk about that since it is the title of this thread!!! The Nickel Trophy will never be played for again. We don't even play NDSU every other year, or every 4 years to establish a consistent game to have a trophy for. That and the fact that we have retired the Sioux name. So because of these reasons, I think since it should be on display. And it would be only fitting that we won the last meeting and we have won the most overall "Nickel games" that it should be prooudly displayed somewhere in Grand Forks. I think they need to display it at the Alerus. Let fans who maybe have never seen it up close get to see it. IT is a big part of UND football history. The Ralph made a genius decision when they decided to put all the National Championship and Hobey Baker trophies in the lobby. Similar think could be done at the Alerus. The Alerus has made stps to make the Al more "UND football friendly" but having a "UND history section" with past trophies, pictures and accomplishments would be sweet. Of course this is all just a pipe dream,,,,but one can hope right?!!

4 points separate first from sixth in the NCHC. Every point is huge !! Need a sweep and 6 points next weekend against a struggling Miami team!!

So UND had a bad game against a good team. Let's put things in perspective. Still only 3 points out of first. Not gonna win every game. Our league is tough this year. Still 8 games left to make some noise in the league this year. Everyone needs to calm down. We are still in good shape. Hey, we could be Redhawk fans!

And for every kid that that chose to play somewhere else, the talking point response is "We only want kids that want to be here. We aren't gonna beg a kid to come to NDSU" I don't think the Kleiman and his coaches even need to go out on the recruiting trail. They just wait for the faxes to come in on signing day!!
