The good thing is Jones knows the situation is in. He has to have his teams produce and win. If he fails to do that, he will be let go. Faison has shown that with the recent firing of Mussman.

100% agree. You would think that a coach that had the ammount of injuries UND has had to deal with and had to throw out primarily bench players out there for signigicant minutes and led that team to finish second in the league and to the conference championship game should be commended a little bit don't you think?
-
Hope they change to the UND game eventually!!!

3rd and 2nd in the Big Sky the past two seasons. If that was Muss in football, he'd be getting a raise!!

Friday, 7pm from Cincy. Sioux v. Badgers!!!

Just watched the replay of #4 seed (16 overall) hoist the National Championship Trophy. Anyone in the tournament has a chance. Yale is proof of that. We are in we have our chance. 4 wins from glory!!!

Enough with the fire Hak talk. Sure he is responsible for getting these guys in a position to win. But why are so many people complaining about Hak and giving the players a pass. It is the players that are on the ice. It is the players that are skating on the ice, make the hits, make the passes, and score the goals. Hak doesn't fail to clear the puck on a power play which results in a goal. Hak didn't miss two wide open nets. Hak doesn't make bad passes which lead to goals. If they don't produce, like last night, why is it the coaches fault? We lost. I get it. We are all pissed. But there are more people to blame for the loss than Hak.

No one is saying this. NDSU won their conference. They won their conference tournament. They won an NCAA tournament game. They are a better team. Sure UND beat them, but if you are looking at who has had more success since then, it's obvious.

SO....the NCHC Tournament Championship trophy. We have seen glimpses of it on the tickets for the tournament. But when are they announcing the name of the trophy? Saturday night at the trophy presentation?!!
-
Xavier v. K-State in the Swee 16 was one of the best tournament games of all time. And the reason for that (besides being a great game played on the court) was that Gus Johnson called the game. He was great!! Every shot that went in he made a huge shot. "Got it"!!!!

So players checking out is the coaches fault? If these guys don't want to work together as a team and are just playing for themselves, how is that Jones'fault? I am pretty sure he (like most basketball coaches) stressed point every day in practive about playing team basketball. The coach can only do so much. If these guys are gonna be lazy and not do what they did in practice and do it in the game, than that is all on the players. Guess what, this is D1 college basketball. Suck it up, do your job, and do what the cooach tells you to do. He knows more than these players about the schemes and gameplans he wants to run. If you are going to check out, then I don't want you on the team anymore anyway.

The positioning of the student section may have been one of the biggest flaws that the Ralph ever did. In the old Ralph, the student section was half of the arena. The folks at the new Ralph wanted to make sure the students still had good seats for games, so they game them center ice seats in the two middle sections (as well as the upper deck on the west side). I am not sure why they never thought about students standing and blocking the season ticket holsers in sections 107 and 110, and the suites. The biggest problem is that there is no way they are going to move them. The people at the ends love their seats and aren't going to give them up to go to center ice. Because of this, it is going to be hard for students to make a real impact on the game.
-
Absolutely agree with this. The student section should have been sections 103, 104, 105, and 106. Imagine how much better the atmosphere would have been had the students been allowed to stand, jomp around, and yell the entire game!!
-
The Ralph is partly to blame for the lack of atmosphere at games. They turned a college atmosphere into a pro game. And that was their goal all along. They wanted to make a game at the Ralph "the event" to go to. They have successfully done that but not for the reasons that true college hockey fans wanted. There is so much more that could be done to make it a better atmosphere, but the Ralph cares more about selling advertising space on the video boards and announced over the PA than getting fans into the game. As long as people show up and have a caouple beers and a popcors, they are going to make money. I would really love to see the Ralph invest all the money they have gotten from fans the last 13 years and put it back into making the Ralph not only the nicest arena to watch hockey in, but the most exciting, festive, and fan orriented arena in the country. I don't think that is too much to ask.

Teams bid to host the tournament as soon as the season is over. Given the fact that Omaha didn't make the Summit League tournament, and UND played just 3 days ago, they got the upper hand by being able to bid on hosting before UND had a chance. Faison isn't going to put a bid to host the CIT when there was a chance UND could play in the NCAA tournament.

Can anyone remember the last time that there has been this much uncertainty about making the tournament? Typically the Pairwise discussion is determining what seed we will be and where we are going to play. 2001-2002 season we did not even make it to the Final 5. That season was a disaster so everyone knew that we werent making the playoffs. That says a lot about where this program is currently at. That we expect to make the playoffs every year...and we typically do. Been awhile since this program has been on the ropes and fighting for their playoff lives going into the last weekend of the season!

Just win baby!!

If there were stealing in softball I might agree with you!!

I think what makes road games so great is the Sioux fans who attend are true die hard fans. They didn't just get tickets from their boss and drive 5 minutes over to the Ralph after work on a Friday noght. These road warriors went out of their way to find out when tickets went on sale, most likey found a group of like minded die hards to go with, bought the tickets, booked a hotel and planned their trip to said away game city. The fans that are at the games are outnumbhered, but they are deffinitely not silent. When you go to a road =game, everyone wearing green and white is your friend. You have that special bond knowing that you drove all this way to see your team play. I have been to St. Cloud, Minnesota, Duluth, and the Final 5 many times for road games. There were always tons of Sioux fans at the games and then out at the local establishments after. But the best road game ever, and I am sure others would agree, would be the trip last year to Omaha. That Friday night game, the entire end was practically Sioux fans. Old Matress factory that Friday and the next Saturday when the game was delayed was packed!! Standing behind the dugout where the players exited the field after the sweep and hearing THOUSANDS of Sioux fans cheer on the team is something that still give me goosebumps. It is moments like these that bond us as fans.

Some of you guys are really making us UND fans look dumb. NDSU is a good team. Did we beat them, yes. But, from January on they have clearly been the better team. They have 5 loses and we were barely 500 when entering the conference tournament. NDSU beat Notre Dame and W. Michigan. Those are good road nonconference wins. We lost to SUU who had only won one game against an NAIA team. Just accept it. NDSU has a better basketball team than UND this year. Head to head works to compare teams when they have similar records, but look how each team finished the season and it is clear who has the better team. There is a reason they are a 12 seed and not a 16 seed. Do they have a chance to beat Oklahoma, sure they do. Probably the best team ranked 12-16 with a chance to upset in the tournament. Some of you guys need to just take the gloves off and stop the stupid UND/NDSU pissing match and recognize a good team when you see it.

There is a reason Miami is the worst team in the conference and one if the worst teams in the nation. Yes they got hot at the right time in St Cloud, but old habits are hard to get rid if. UND needs to exploit the mistakes that Miami has had all year long and take it to them. The crowd at at the Target Center is going to much different than the one in St Cloud. Those Husky fans were on their hands most if the weekend. Crowd is going to be very green in the Taeget Center. Virtually a home game for UND. If we get a couple early goals and get the crowd into it, gonna be tough for Miami to compete with that.
-
Having a neutral site game and having 4 teams travel is gonna be killer for attendance. Especially first and econd round games. It just makes sense to have schools host and have a sold out gym as opposed to the alternative.
-
As much as Bison fans love to label a large portion of our fanbase as "hockey only" fans, there are just as many, if not more, "football only" fans at NDSU.

Why accept an invite? So we can put 2013-2014 on that CIT banner we have proudle hanging from the Betty!! And of course saying you have made the post season 4 consecutive years is a great recruiting tool!!
