  1. Pflugrad is the guy. He is the best applicant that has applied. Faison needs to get him in his office and talk they all these allegations and so called baggage and get the truth straight from the horses mouth.
  2. If you think the NCAA is going to do us any favors in the near future, than you are kidding yourself.
  3. Well at least the debate has turned to actual games and success on the playing field and away from who has more televised games On big networks. That was my point.
  4. Since when did "we are playing more on a nationally televised network" become legitimate bragging rights material. Whatever happened to head to head results?
  5. This is like the night before Christmas!! We are all sitting in our beds trying to go to sleep but we can't because of the anticipation!! Hopefully Santa Faison brings us a great present!!
  6. Enough already!!! Holy crap!! Both schools are on national television. Accept that and move on !!!
  7. Maybe the next coach IS on the list of candidates that applied!!
  8. All this for a 4 dollar cab fare!!!
  9. So the big question is does this help or hurt UND's coaching search. Will coaches hold out in applying for the UND job and wait to apply for the NDSU job? Or will they apply for both??
  10. Is every member of the UND athletic department perfect? No. But to accuse Faison of a coverup? That's a pretty serious offense. You better have some pretty substantial evidence to back up that claim. Instead of Bison fans taking joy in all this, why don't you just step back and forget about your hatred for UND for just a second and realize that this issue involves real people that were affected by this situation. Accusations towards anyone before all the information is out is irresponsible. Shame on some of you Bison fans. You truly are scum.
  11. I have a feeling we will find out. The players in the car are gonna talk. And it people will find out. Hardee would be smart to come out and say what happened. Doubt he will do that though.
  12. With the recent Hardee news, character is gonna be a HUGE factor in a new coach.
  13. The team was 3-8 this year. Sure some of that falls on the coaches. But, do you think maybe you could put some of the blame of the lack of success of the team on players that were not 100% committed to the program? These are the players that are jumping ship to other schools. Like Sic said. Just opens the door for someone who is committed to the program to play.
  14. Anyone can apply for the position. Doesn't mean they are being considered. Like Tom Miller said, the best applicants will come in the final days be fore Dec 10th.
  15. NDSU isn't necessarily a lock to win the Summit tourney. Look at the trouble they had when their starters got into foul trouble. With these new foul rules, teams that have depth on the bench and guys that can penetrate to the basket will have success. I believe UND has both, so they will do very will IMO tis year with the new rules. NDSU has Braun who can get to the basket and to the foul line. They have Bkorkland too, but other than maybe Wright, they don't have many guys that can drive to the basket consistently. They also don't have a very deep bench. When you have to play your 5 foot nothing walk on Freddy Newell because guys are in foul trouble, you have problems. The Bison have 7 maybe 8 guys they would be comfortable sending out there. That is gonna hurt when their starters get into foul trouble, as we found out on Sunday. While I agree the Bison path to the Big Dance may be easier, that doesn't mean that is is a lock.
  16. Decades.....really? I think looking at sports like volleyball, basketball, etc, you can see it doesn't take to long to catch up.
  17. Cavalry is my top choice as well. Substitute the Brien designed Sioux head for a profile of Teddy Roosevelt facing to the left an you are all set! Throw in a couple cris crossing swords below it and you got yourself a new logo!!
  18. Until we win a regular season conference championship or go to the Big Dance, NDSU will still be ahead if us in basketball in the D1 era. NDSU has done both. We have done neither. Sure bearing them says a lot, but we still have some ground to make up before we have passed them.
  19. Don't forget about soccer!!!
  20. With all the fouls that are gonna be called now this year, depth is gonna be key. I think that we showed great strides tonight proving we have a good depth and solid guys coming off the bench.
  21. With 57 fouls tonight, that is good enough for second all time in NCAA history!! 3 shy if the record of 60. Welcome to the be NCAA basketball!!
  22. The new coach must have D1 coaching experience. I don't want to take a chance on a D2 or D3 coach. D1 is a completely different world. We need someone that is defensive minded. This is our biggest area of concern. So if you ask me, a DC with D1 experience is the optimal selection.
  23. I think anyone that takes a coaching position at a D1 program (or any program for that matter) realizes that they will be analyzed, criticized, praised, hated loved, etc, etc, etc while they are coaching. It is the nature of the business. Being a head football coach is not the same as working a 9-5 job. You are in the spotlight. There are many people invested in the result of your work. Alumni, season ticket holders, boosters, and any fan that pays money to watch the product that you put on the field will have an opinion of you. Coaches know this. Muss is no exception. Was anything said on this thread or the "Fire Muss" disrespectful to Chris Mussman? I can't defend all the posts, but the overwhelming majority were peoples honest opinion of what they felt. A head coach knows that if the team they are coaching is not performing well, they are going to get criticism. After getting blown out 4 games at home and finishing 3-8, do you think Muss deserved praise? Many of us have been UND football fans for years. We are invested in the program. Whether it is our money towards donation or season tickets or just our interest in the team. We have the right to expect good things from our team. When you have a program rich in winning tradition and that team takes a huge step backwards under a certain coach, we have every right to criticize. I wish the best for Chris Mussman, his family, and all the other coaches and their families. I agree with your statement that sometimes it isn't always the coaches fault, but that is the nature of the beast in athletics. You can't fire the entire team. So you have to fire the person that is most accountable for the teams failure. Unfortunately, and sure sometimes unfairly, that has to be the coach.
  24. Obviously the team practices together. And yes, we have guys that have been together for 5 years. But the team of Seniors and new additions have only had 2 games together. I think that they play well together but sometimes it takes a few games to get a feel for each other. NDSU has had 4 games together, we have had only 2. Not saying its a huge factor. Just that it is a factor that shouldn't be overlooked thats all.
  25. I think the fact that NDSU has played 4 games and we have only played 2 will be a factor.
