The jerseys looked sharp. Still to dark in my opinion. Was hoping the jerseys wold be the color of the helmets during fall camp. they obviously had to darken the helmets when the jerseys came in. The colors match, so that is good. Just wish the green was a true Kelly green and lighter.

The debate about what names should make the list is over. Why doesn't the Herald publish letters about what we can do tincrease our relations with the Sioux tribes to keep the Sioux nickname while they are at it........oh wait...to late!!!

I predict a runoff between those as well. Also predicting another thread started with a poll with those two names. Also predicting the thread drifting to why North Dakota or another option nickname is far superior!!

I find it interesting that this lawyer includes the tradmarks office registration information with "RoughRiders" clealy stated as the trademark, yet in his letter he says "If UND were to pick the name Rough Riders or some variation therof, my client has informed me that it would be willing to discuss liscensing rights with the University." The registered trademark, as shown in the letter, shows RoughRiders. Does he thing that that trademark holds ownership to all variation of the word? So Roughriders, RoughRiders, Rough Riders, Ruff Riders, Rough Ridaz, Ruff Ridaz, etc, etc, etc are all property of the Cedar Rapids USHL team?

Your comments that suggest UND is a dirty team and targets players lacks just one thing. Proof!! Has a UND player had a cheap shot on an opposing player in the last 120 years? Sure. Same could be said about every other team. Including the "always the victim" Bison team. But to label the UND football team as "classless losers" means that there is a trend of this occuring game after game, season after season. I am calling you out on this one to back up your classless comment. Let's hear it. Give us some examples of this being a trend for our "Classless" team!!!

One take from this game. The Bison are definitely beatable. I knew that their defense would take a step back this year, but their secondary looked awful. 434 yards passing given up is pretty bad. Champion looked like a chump!! Nice to see Bison Nation humbles today. May have to cover over to Bisonville to see the meltdown!!

People are going to vote for the name they want. By doing so, it will block out the other names from being under consideration. That's how elections work.

When first taking nickname submissions, the committe came up with some attributes that they would evaluate each name on. These attributes were: Be unique, recognizable, inspiring, and distinctly UND’s;Promote a sense of pride, strength, fierceness, and passion;Be representative of the state and region in a way that honors the traditions and heritage of the past but also looks to the future; andBe a unifying and rallying symbol.The committe deffinitely should be applauded for doing at least this right. These are the attributes that I think all of us can agree should be represeted by UNd's new nickname. Everyone has a right to their own opinion and those fortunate enough will get a vote. I only ask that when figuring out the name you are going to vote for, take these attributes into consideration.

Did I read somwhere that UND is in the process of coming up with conceptual designs for the remaining optins so people have a more informed idea of what UND is thinking in regards to logo ideas for these nickname choices?

Well, since North Dakota did not get back on the list of names under consideration for a public vote, it will not be selected as UND's nickname (or lack there of). SO thankfully this thread can officially be shut down!!!

YOu know how you get rid of a terrible name and make sure it doesn't have a chance to win, vote for a different name. If you hate Sundogs, even if you aren't 100% on board with one of the other names, vote for something else.

There are many things that have been handled horribly in this entire process, the voting process laid out is probably the best thing we could asked for.

Sanctions only apply if no nickname is selected and UND goes by just "North Dakota". If UND picks a new nickname, wear all the Fighing Sioux stuff you want and yell all the Sioux chants you want. NCAA can't do anything because UND has selected a new name. UND can't control people embracing the new name.

Smart timing by NDSU to announce this 2 days before they play on ESPN. No doubt it will be brought up. Will be interesting if anyone at ESPN goes out to ask the Montana AD what their plans are? With Montana alum Brent Musburger calling the game, it would be interesting if he digs into to this!

So there is a chance that the NCAA may impose sanctions on UND if no nickname is selected and UND chooses to go by just "North Dakota." Is it a good chance, or is it far fetched....doesn't matter. No matter how much, you don't think that other schools UND recruits against are going to use that against us? Sure the chance is small, but it is out there and it will hurt recruiting. This is not a scare tactic. Coaches pull out all the stops when recruiting a player that is persued by another school. Why give other schools ammo against us?

This will deffinitely speed up the process for creating a 3 tier D1 in football. There will be the P5, the rest of the FBS and the FCS schools that provice FCOA, and the rest of the FCS that do not offer FCOA.

Before everyone gets all in ahuff that UND didn't beat NDSU to the punch on this issue and claims we are one step behind them once again, this may actually be a time where it might be good to let NDSU make the first move and see what they are planning to do. It's not like UND has not already discusses this issue. And it's not like we are 2 years down the road and not offering FCOA. Let NDSU make their announcement, see how much they are offering, and make an informed decision. Just make that decision sooner rather than later!!
