  1. I thought he landed on his knee and then rolled. Who knows what happened for sure. HIPAA!
  2. According to USCHO (if you call this a credible source): It is going to be on FSN-Wisconsin and not on in Minnesota or ND. As for patching it through, not only would I be surprised if they did, I would be surprised if they ever would with dataflix. Remember, if it is televised then they lose out on the home crowd. So, no, unless REA drops the dataflix webcast, we'll never watch another away hockey game on television except for when we play the Gophers and perhaps an occasional UW series like last season, but that is even questionable. Sorry folks,
  3. Evidentally he plays for Warroad. And Warroad has a very good team.
  4. I'm all for returning the favor of: DU Rejects Although I doubt he'd make the trip, there is a freshman named Sweatt so we could say "Sweatting the small stuff" or something like that.
  5. Having known both Baker and Kupchella personally, I can attest that Baker was a very nice guy. I don't know what his policies were that were so upsetting to you all, maybe I just didn't notice. But I can say honestly that Kupchella isn't about students. If you ever see him and talk to him, he has the most vacant stare, like he isn't listening to you or maybe just bored. I don't know. I do not care to read the statement. I don't care about it at all. Then again, the University doesn't have to worry about me ever giving any money to the University as an alumni (which I am technically from my first degree). This University has its head up its backside. I understand about cleaning up the language around children and in the PUBLIC areas of the arena, but in the student section, who cares.
  6. I had a dream last night that Karl got called up for a game against the Wild. The XCel Energy Center immediately sold out and Sioux jerseys were everywhere. Karl of course wore the number 1 and shut down the Wild 2-0. He faced 40 shots in total during the game. The place went nuts of course. I woke up this morning and realized it was just a dream
  7. next weekend they should break the 100 point mark
  8. And he has able to learn that standing behind a temendous offense and defence as well, which really really helps. I don't know where I read this, but Jordan apparently has played more time at forward or defence than any of hte other goaltenders on the Sioux, so it appears to me those stylings (plus his younger brother's influence no doubt) has made him a little more "courageous" with the puck. Nowadays, a good goalie who has excellent stick handling skills is a valuable asset to have. For those who want to know what happens when you only even have half of the ability look to Curtis Joseph last season in the playoffs. Poor stick handling cost him several goals against him. Then again, what do you expect from an ex-Badger.
  9. I guess it comes to state pride. Since when does Tiger Woods take precedent over State sports? I understand the Forum's eager coverage of NDSU and local high school athletics. I even understand their coverage of the Redhawks and to a certain extent, Minnesota professional sports. But why must professional tennis, golf, and whatever the heck else they can dig up be more important than UND athletics? If I could be the editor of a sports page this is how I would arrange it: First page: National breaking news/local professiona (if any) or collegiate athletics Second page: Regional professional athletics, regional college athletics Third Page: local and regional high school athletics/ Other interests Remaining pages: Other professional, special interest, and whatever else in athletics including box scores, transactions, and schedules for all local and regional athletics.
  10. According to some on USCHO, Dora is the popular player and Caldwell, despite DU fans saying that his stick handling and skating are on par with the best DU has, is the unpopular one. I don't put much weight on anything I get from USCHO, but the amusement factor from those comments is notable.
  11. Where are we at points wise with the three?
  12. Berkhoel is a great goalie. Friday's game didn't show it, but he really is a good goaltender. I expected both games to be close, but we should have won. BTW- For anyone who saw the games, looking at Berkhoel, do you think that gold on his leg padding was spray painted on? It looks like it was to me. Caldwell got lucky on Saturday, the cheap bast@rd Do ties hurt PWR ratings? Is there a chance that BC will get more votes because we couldn't sweep?
  13. Actually, I was thinking about USCHO Defensive player of the week, myself. Not likely, but it would be neat. INCH is a snow job, so I don't expeact anything from them. JPar has Rookie OTW wrapped up. Will he also get defensive POTW honors?
  14. From what I've read on these boards and from what I see on the ice, I am really starting to become a big JPar fan. His worth ethic is outstanding. Wasn't JPar recruited after both Ziggy and Lammy? Jordan's save percentage of the last few games makes me realize that, if he is only going to get better, or even just stays how he is, he'll be a solid DI goaltender. He was the only exciting part of Saturday's game after Zach's goal. I HATE HATE HATE TIES! Bring in Shootouts!
  15. Peacocks? Oh my I can even hear the chants and taunts starting now.
  16. Nash didn't compete in the WJC because he didn't have a choice. Unlike in Major Juniors, juniors, or even college hockey, pro players are under contract. Therefore, permission must be recieved from the team who owns the player's rights in order to compete in the competition. That's why Kesler, Burns, Fritsche (sp?), Fleury, and some others were allowed to go and not Nash. Nash was needed in Columbus so permission wasn't granted. In juniors or college hockey, it's the player's decision, not the team's. See the difference or was I being to confusing?
  17. It hasn't been started yet so I thought I would start it for y'all. My car is a dead weight so, for the second game in a row, I will miss warmups. Everyone seems to notice when I'm gone or late, which is interesting. Even Campion made note of it during the Duluth series.
  18. You could email them and notify them of the error. You'll even get credit for it. I'm not one to stick up for the Fargo Forum, as their sports section is not the greatest in even the region, however, I do have friends in other departments. They do not care too highly for printing errors such as these, but sometimes they are missed.
  19. Nope. I've never seen one in a store. Sorry. Due to the PC police, I doubt you'd have much luck.
  20. Not really. Regardless, they've actually checked signs twice. First time at the gates and sometimes they'll recheck them at our seats. Be that as it may, the guy that comes to our seats is pretty cool.
  21. I think the first and most prominent thing I have against BU is that BU IS IN HOCKEY EAST. Hockey East is suck.

    UND-DU

Sioux brought in about 100 or so more Friday night. Gophers better get more than us by over a hundred or they're going to feel the wrath of the UW-UM rivalry being chanted as "OVER RATED"
  23. Farce is right, so I am just going to add on a few notes from my perspective: The Massen line didn't look that great although Massen looks like he's regaining his speed, which is good. I think he really needs more playing time. Ryan Hale had some incredible chances and, unlike last year, he put the puck into different parts of the goalie. That means that sooner or later, one's going to go in. Marvin was alright, but I want Bina! The little guy could really do well to take the burden off of Greene of putting the smack down on those cheap-arsed Pioneers Keith and Caldwell! Lukas Dora injured? Do I care? Feel bad that he's injured, but I couldn't care less if he steps on the ice tonight. Cheap player. Smaby DOES look good. Remember folks, Smaby is NOT an offensive D-man, nor will he ever really be. The fact that he already has his first collegiate goal in his freshman year (something Greene nor, I believe, Commodore did) only puts him at a bonus. I am starting to think that Schneider is overburdened not just on the ice but off of it. Captaincy is a burden because you start to feel responsibility and ownership towards the play and actions towards the coaches, other players, and fans. It can divert minds away from the game. And I am in favor of Schneider being placed with Smaby. His experience is very beneficial and it frees up Jones to be placed with Greene, which is one of the best defensive combos in college hockey. Porter and the entire first line shined tonight. Genoway, though, needs to be with Porter and Lundbohm. But that would probably mess up the centering. DU is cheap folks. Let's take it to them again tonight.
  24. I think there should be more national awards for DI hockey. We need a best defenseman, best defensive forward, and best goaltender awards to go with the humanitarian and hobey baker awards.
