I'll just go out on a limb (with my credibility, who cares?) and say that Smaby is making all the mistakes he'll make this year and next year return to top notch form. He'll be a good one. I'm sure of it.

Two part question: How does lettering in athlettics work? How does lettering in cheerleading work? I would think, except for longevity, cheerleading would be a hard thing to quantify, like band. I lettered in band in high school. Don't know why I lettered in band (not sure I even deserved it in the first place), but I did.

Who did he think Detroit was playing

I don't have time to go back over the thread so this may seem redundant but Oshie is listed on the Heisenberg site as coming to UND.
-
Yes he did. Marketing major too, so none of this Athletic coaching major stuff either.
-
What is the heisenberg site URL again?

Out of curiosity, where is Greentree heading? Nevermind. He's heading to UAF

And I never said I was quoting anyone. Edit: Because I misquoted PCM once and paid dearly for it, that means I've have a trend? Learning curve is steep here. Next thing you know, I'll be the Happy of SS.com. I erased the sentence in question just because you have taken issue with how it was written. I apologize for the miscommunication. I'll just go on with my life now.

I dunno, forecheck, none of them have long hair

NDH ias mostly right. It made ESPN because, unless BC losses on Monday, BC will take over the #1 slot. I really can't say that I don't care, because I don't want us to lose the #1 in the nation label. I don't know if that label actually means something even now, but I still love it next to the Sioux in the standings.

I'd much rather lose to a WCHA team like UW than a team like Ferris State or some schmoes from Hockey Least

As one who harshly criticized Brandt during the game (after the 2nd goal and onto the end of the game) I feel like I should reevaluate and issue a warning. I do not believe Brandt is innocent and is not without blame. No matter how logically or rationally I look at last night, I cannot dismiss his poor play on the powerplay. What I can do is to say that everyone has a bad game. Sometimes it comes at inopportune times. We are not out of it at all. Someone here said that going into the tourney as the #1 team may not necessarily be a good thing. I'd love more explanation on that because it does not appear to me that we will be going into the Regionals as #1 anymore (unless the other teams start losing). JPar has had good games, but remember, he has had some bad games too. We've been able to come back from those deficits, but still, you have to keep it in context. Also, Brandt played spectacularly against Minnesota, despite seemingly getting overshadowed by JPar's performance in the LOSS the following night. Criticize Bradnt if you want, but let's not turn him into Siembida. I know I'm already guilty of beginning the process in my own mind, but I am going to try hard to eliminate those thoughts and think of last season around playoff time and how Brandt really stepped up.

I'm much calmer now. My apologies to everyone including CRR and UMD. Got a little too pissed off. Yes, BC tied Merrimack (the same team that gives Maine fits along with Providence every year). They play again on Sunday against BU so it would be a close game. IF we win tommorrow and BC loses, we could keep #1. If not, I do not anticipate falling beyond #3 due to our strength of schedule and the fact that most of the others in the top ten are playing non conference or less powerful teams. BTW Maine squeaked by Alabama Hunstville 1-0. It isn't over yet. Brandt didn't do too badly, he just needs to make better decisions handling the puck against teams that love to play the odds on clearing passes regardless of how many men are on the ice (5x5, 5x4, and so on). I hope JPar doesn't do the same thing tommorrow. I can't stand seeing us lose especially like that.

Dude, way out of line. WAY out of line. Go to your own board to gloat. You beat Mankato. WOW. Good for you.
-
I don't think it was that badly officiated. There were a few questionable calls, but nothing that directly influenced the game. We lost because we blew it. JPar tommorrow folks. Definitely.
-
Good news is that we don't have to worry about being #1 anymore.
-
WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!! Blew it
-
Now we HAVE to win tommorrow.
-
WHOOOOOOPPPPPSSSSSS Brandt's burning REAAAALY hurts now
-
No, I'm not. Brandt came all the way past the faceoff circles to clear the puck. The puck goes to Lundbohm and off his skate into a Badger. The Badger passes to Joudrey (I think) who shoots it just over Brandt's hip. Brandt NEVER got back to the net. He was still just behind the faceoff circles. He got burned.
-
As this type of thing continues the larger the chance that JPar plays tommorrow
-
Brandt goes wandering and gets burned. Wow. Didn't see that coming. Sheesh STAY IN THE NET DANG IT!@

THat was a gift by Schmidt. We watched the replay and both Jones and Bochenski had their sticks high, but I didn't see a redirection. Whatever. The weird thing is that they are commentating it pretty well for a Badgers team. Earl gets called for slashing, but that's ok, because 10 seconds earlier he should have been called for diving.

Prepare for some flames folks. UW's period intermission interview was with Zach and he said that Eaves was the best coach he ever played with. Imagine how many people will jump on that. More on USCHO than here....
