Oh the officials know how to call it, but they don't understand those rules. They call holding when they can't figure out what the actual infraction (if there actually is one) is. They rarely call hoocking though. I've seen hooking penalties called as high sticking before. The rare rules that they for sure don't know about is the rules concerning breakaways. They don't know what the call is for a penalty shot.

For that tune, I'd say: There's a SIEVE (arm motion towards the goalie in question) in the goal crease the goal crease the goal crease There's a SIEVE (arm motion towards the goalie in question) in the goal crease the goal crease A SIEVE! SIEVE SIEVE SIEVE!

I agree with MNS and WPoS really. The NCAA doesn't want the WCHA to own the WCHA. I also believe that, aside from the ECAC, HE is the least powerful conference out there. Only Maine and BC really pose a chance of making the FF. Of course, the CCHA has to be weak this year because the strongest teams out there are Miami and Michigan. I guess this year the WCHA makes everyone else look like sissies. Yes, I'll even say that UAA could probably beat 90 percent of all CCHA and HE teams right now and all or most of ECAC teams.

I chose David because of his stickhandling and goal scoring abilities. However, I agree with jk and Fighting Sioux Fan. Ryan is a team player who plays hard and cares every shift he's on. However, he is, IMO, a purely defensive forward. He's got great size and can push it around. He's fearless and has tons of character. I didn't think much of him last year, but I really think I am beginning to see where he comes into his own this year. Too bad it took until his senior year for me to realize it.

Where's Prpich?

What, nothing on Anderson?

I agree. We here on this board can start doing it, but I'm about 90 percent sure that the rest won't. I feel that most of us want to make some noise and it is percieved that a lack of it doesn't do well for the atmosphere. If I were creative, I'd come up with cheers. Since I'm not, I'll leave it up to you folks and follow along with whatever you all come up with.

Interesting because I can't sit through an entire football game. Too much stoppage in play. However, it is better than basketball and baseball. With baseball, I can run to the convenience store for a snack and get back in time to see who's up next to hit. With basketball, I just find the sport boring and there is some inner resentment because everyone is so tall and I'm so damn short.

I agree with Sioux-per0villain. one bad weekend is not a championship make. Therefore you can count the Gophers and Denver out of it. After all, they were swept by the Sioux. Seriously, now, ONE bad weekend is nothing. Remeber in 1999-2000, going into Madison in this time of year and doing so wonderful that we were swept both nights in overtime. Was that season over? Looking at the BANNER, I'd say NOPE. Sorry. I'll believe we are out of it as soon as the last loss is made official. Just like I wouldn't believe the Gophers were out of it back in November.

What is your problem? I really wonder if there is a classy fan among the Badger faithful. I am also wondering who is going to the Badger board to incite this kind of crap to come here. I wish they would stop.

I thought the Wookiee cut is hair, therefore nullifying him as an object of lust?

Sorry. Again, I say the wrong thing. I editted my post and deleted the passage.

UND players make the AHL All star game! Curtis Murphy attended his 3rd straight AHL all star game! He didn't get any points and he finished as a -1 +/- but it's good to see UND representing. He even got interviewed after the game and there was mention of his impressive history. They mentioned his college championship at UND! In somewhat related news: Andy Murray got a contract extension. Evidentally a really nice multi-year extension.

I seem to recall Ziggy initially coming to the Sioux as a walk on, but after the Siembida fall out, ended up with ah half scholarship (if not a full one). Therefore, I think Ziggy knew from the beginning that his playing time would be limited.

If you think your opinion doesn't mean sh*t, try mine.

Don't know if you will get the chance. We always seem to play our best versus Minnesota. We may not sweep, but we won't have to for the remainder of the season. Once more in the Final Five (surely the WCHA CHampionship game) and another in the Regionals, if not the Frozen Four.
-
Bah. The Gophers could beat any CCHA team right now. Remember, the CCHA is a mediocre conference centered around only one good team: Michigan. The rest wouldn't even make the lower half of the WCHA. Yeah, Miami (OH) is good this year and UNO has been decent in years past, but every team is streaky.

I think BC has the easiest schedule because they play in Hockey East. With the exception of MAYBE Maine (on a good night), the rest of them are easy.

It's really hard to watch us lose, but yesterday wasn't as hard as Friday. I PRAY that our goaltenders don't cave. Karl "blew it" in 2000 and we came out on top. And Karl's a great goalie. They have the ability. We've seen it ALL season. I almost say that from here on, it's conditioning and mental toughness that will make or break the remainder of our season and the post season ahead. I believe we have the conditioning. If we don't maintain mental toughness and focus....
-
Actually I don't find the Minny "squeaker" as embarrassing to the victor as Maine's squeaker against powerhouse UAH. I don't care what Jared Ross is doing. If Maine's anything to worry about, it should have been a blow out.

I always understood that a "troll" is someone who surfs opposition message boards or threads and posts with the sole purpose to talk smack, berate, and enrage the fanbase of that board or thread. Just because you happen to be a Gopher fan, D, doesn't mean you are a troll. Greyeagle, WPoS, and sagard are all Gopher fans who frequently post to this board as welcome members. No, they do not root for the Sioux by any means (unless it benefits the Gophers) but they respect our team and that's why they are welcomed here. Anyone who wishes to give input is welcome to post here. We just ask that you use common sense. Coming onto our site to tell us that we suck is classless. Coming on to our site to say "You lost but don't count yourself out yet. Here is what I saw..." That's different. We know that not all Gopher fans are idiots. We just don't like those idiots coming onto our board to berate us like that. There are places on the net to do that and this place isn't one of them.
-
That's good. And since your knowledge of the Gophers is right up there with the best, I should let you know that Ryan Potulney is out for the season. So you obviously mean Grant. And since Ryan is a freshman, and one who has not played many games at this level, it is hard to know. So, you're not pulling much weight here at all. I'm done. Flame away, dude.

They already are trolling this board. They are even posting. Sometimes I hate sports because of those trollers. Not saying everyone at POI are trollers, just those who come onto a Sioux board to gloat on a series that was largely unreleated. I'd feel just as bad hearing about us doing likewise....
-
What is wrong with you? If you want to gloat, go to USCHO or POI. I'm sure there are plenty of people who can give you high fives and all. Not very classy of you to come here and talk smack when you are not even playing the Sioux until the end of the season. Talk smack before the next time UM plays UND. Until then, go troll POI

Maybe something to the tune of Frosted Flakes and Tony the Tiger?
