  1. Ok I'll give you that. I'll accept that UND took the high road, acted with a high level of diplomatic integrity and established credibility as the consummate team player in their new league. I'm all for that. But in doing so the league and UND discounted the value and respect they should have had for just exactly what UND brings to the league; a 12,000 sold out arena, a traveling fan base which spends tens of thousands of dollars in THIER communities, and simply a program that is one of if not the most respected programs in the nation. I think the "league" showed a bit of disrespect thereof these facts when they agreed to the restricted TV deal with CBS... Notre Dame agreed with me.. BUT for the sake of argument with ol 82Sioux I will concede the point. UND did the right thing for their future (Note: I agree with the caveat that any of the rest of the teams in the NCHC that voted for the deal are ignorant asses). But there is another point which should be vetted: Why would anyone for ANY reason, including CBS, be interested in restricting national coverage of any NCHC game on ANY night that CBS is not telecasting a game? This makes absolutely zero sense. CBS only benefits from more coverage outside of when they CHOOSE to cover games because the more exposure you have the more interest you generate. Consider this; Would ESPN really choose to have no NFL games televised on Sunday just so they can be the only "NFL SHOW" out there? Answer, ahhh, hell no@! The league would be done in five years if that contract saw the light of day. Everyone benefits from more exposure period. CBS should have agreed to a contract which gives them the right of first refusal for any given night. Anything more than that had no benefit only detriment. So the bottom line is this Mr. Faison supporter 100% of the time; The contract was massively ignorant on this level and there aint no two ways about it. And this is what Faison SHOULD have to answer to and be accountable for...
  2. his nicknames get to me: Rocko LJ- and then he follows it up with his name Luke Johnson Kober ...and kober drives me nuts with his poor English, Kober it's "should have gone" not "should have went"
  3. I agree with this post 1000%!! It seems like every year there is one guy that perpetually gets in the line up that is a big head scratcher and it is usually a guy that has a game just like Mitch's. It is apparent that the coaches like his physicality but I just don't know how they can overlook his decision making and vision challenges. When he has the puck it is an accomplishment if he does not turn it over and YES it is a waste putting Mark on the ice with him. IF they were to have the chemistry they had in the juniors they would have done it and we would SEE it. but we don't see it. It reminds me of the Kozak NHL shot talk and how we looked for goals to come from him for four years and all we saw was shot after shot after shot into the goalies pads.(Well except the OT game in Madison. How ironic that he wasn't even on his feet for that titanic blast!!)
  4. I locked in 4 of them. Taking the family. Leaving Friday morning and coming back Monday afternoon. 4 txs round trip $295!!
  5. Jayson, Although I realize that the game replay is not the number one issue your customers are having, as I have noted before, it is a big deal to me. If you recall, a couple of weeks ago you checked into the timing of the replay being put on the und sports site to which you reported that Matt Schill said it would be on later that night. So far the Manitoba game has made that mark while both games the opening weekend were not added until the next day. I have no idea how many other fans care about this but I would think in the world of DVR one of the frustrations with going to web based broadcasts is the lose of the ability to stop the broadcast and resume later. Now if the reality of the situations is that I cannot count of the replay being there later in the evening then I can solve the problem by recording it to a DVD recorder or buy a stand alone DVR of some sort but none of that is as easy as signing in and watching the game on the UND insider replay. ...also could you please tell the media crew to NOT put the outcome/score of the game on any of the pop up tags in the UND insider app. They usually don't but they did for the Sat game against Vermont. If one wants to view the game in replay without knowing the outcome that can be an enormous obstacle.
  6. Maybe, the Neulion software isn't optimized for 64 bit processors? Alternatively, it could just be a Midco hardware issue since some on here have indicated that they get streams from other facilities/schools on Neulion and they work better. I would start there..
  7. I'll re-fire up this thread with some good info for anyone living in Colorado. Frontier has an amazing price from Denver to Omaha right now and the deal coincides with the weekend the Sioux play there. I got tickets for $35 one way and $39 the other way. Hope the crowd is as impressive as last years. I didn't get to that one.
  8. Some day he will concede that he was on the wrong side of right about the name change too.
  9. You've got UNO as the good guys and the bad guys here.
  10. Very very disappointed that the game was not on replay tonight. I missed the season opener. I could have played it live into my DVR AND recorded it myself but I was told it would be uploaded after game at some point the same night. The Manitoba game was on replay within two hours but not this one.
  11. I watched the game in replay last night. I finished it at about 2am central time so at this time on a Sunday night you would be looking at very low network and server demand.. The feed wasn't too bad. It was not as good as I would have hoped but it was better than last year for sure. In the third period the game started to get these little freeze moments that lasted for about .3 second each and they occurred with a frequency of about one every 5 seconds. The game was still watchable but a it was a little vexing having those pauses.. I tried to watch the full game today again to see if the same thing happened but it isn't playing??
  12. Jayson, Being in Mountain time and having kids to get to bed, I like to watch the games later at night. How soon will the games get onto replay? Also, last year the playback would time out whenever I paused the game for more than a few minutes. Could that be changed? While they are at it, fast forward and rewind worked very poorly last year...
  13. If they don't know how its going to work or if it going to take a few games to 'figure it out' then they again deserve to be criticized. The reason I say this is because the technology is known. It is available. Example, if you signed up with directv online Sunday ticket, you can watch every NFL game on your computer live in HD and the feed is great. Further, sites like justintv have been broadcasting very nice looking HD feeds of live sports events for several years now. The UND leaders should know what numbers will be signing up to watch Sioux hockey on the net and therefore have all the information they require to make it happen. Jason has continually communicated a message that, despite all of the 'unfortunate' set backs in SIOUX hockey coverage which have occurred, the athletic department will be providing an on-line HD broadcast(for a charge of course). So we should all expect that correct? As I said the technology to do so is prolific. Now perhaps they are choosing to cut corners on what is needed to get the job done because of cost issues. If this is the case as a couple of posters(not affiliated with the school I'm sure) seem to be insinuating then we should have an issue with it. Why? Because they have continually and absolutely billed the on-line option as the answer to all that we have lost. If it doesn't work as a solution from day one it means they that they simply failed to do what they billed they would do. It ain't rocket science!
  14. DU might not be very high on that one?
  15. Which was the year that Central played in the championship, I think against Red River, and it went like three overtimes knotted at 0-0? Wasn't that a Jeff Panzer year?
  16. Do Bratty back-talking 5 year olds usually possess the moral and ethical high ground in negotiations? Anyone wishing to hang some sort of a hat on the idea that "cooperating" with the NCAA was some sort of ambition or badge to be worn is just about a perfect personification of pretty much everything that is wrong with our society today. Or, better yet, A great allegory for the lack of ability/chance we have of making our world any better that a Wallmart parking lot. The NCAA was NEVER the good guy in anything that transpired regarding the name change so why would we/should we have strived to "cooperate" with them. We surrendered to them. Whether or not we should have is a separate question...
  17. Conversely, this is clearer to me. I can think about this and try to ascertain its validity and in the end draw a pretty good conclusion based on whether it is true or false... But if I then try to fit some left or right lean into it, well then it all falls apart..
  18. There are so many things that leave me scratching my head when I hear peoples opinions/perspectives in our world today but none more fascinating than when I hear people use the words liberal or conservative or left and right. I simply do not understand how anyone can try to make sense of anything in those terms without experiencing such intense vertigo that they simply fall over while walking down the street. But that's just me..
  19. So your saying that the media is anti-business?

Pippen was not one of the greatest players of all time. Are you suggesting that Hak's teams have been more like the Nuggets or Hawks? When I think of the guys Hak has been able to have on his squads I think more of the Bulls and Lakers??

The only reason I agree with this is that their time here is so short. If I was the coach and I knew a rare talent like Rocco was going to be here for 4 years I would built around him. I think there is an element of truth to that with all great coaches. Look no further than our very own Phil Jackson. He hung his hat on the strategy of building a system around a great talent. Hockey is different in that one player is in the game for much less of the game than other sports but I would still create a line to work for my greatest talent. That is just plain old common sense. It's basic military strategy; play to your strength, make the opponent have to challenge you where your strength is. Example, would it be smart to put all of your focus on a ground war when you have a significant air superiority?
  22. how was the crowd for the final?
