  1. Yeah, the problem with the beanies is they are hot to wear inside so if we want to know who each other are, a more indoor hat would be functional for events. just a thought?
  2. Was he maybe thinking of the year before that?
  3. In the end it doesn't matter if we make a goalie look awesome or he is actually awesome. Why? Because the Sioux are in it for a National Championship that's why. Chances of running into a legitimately hot goalie along the way to a title? 90%? 95%? Gonna need open looks boys. ..in our last two National Championship runs what was the ratio of #greasy"/open net first attempt goals?
  4. Exactly, and how many of those games did we lose after dominating TOP only to be scored on in a flash on a breakaway which included a nice pass to a shooter with an open net? if there is one phrase that I hear in hockey which I cannot stand it is, "Greasey Goals". Its worse than listening to "hey macarena".
  5. Give them easy shots. 1. Shoot from the shallowest angle possible. 2. Shoot from as far away as possible while making sure the goalie can see you well the whole time. 3. And for gods sake don't ever pass on an odd man rush cause then the goalie has to change positions quickly. Doing so could put his confidence at risk of peril. While I appreciate the current approach the coaches are employing with respect to using the defenseman to get shots on net, the overall get shots on net dogma is getting old. With our current stock of defenseman shooting from the point is a very wise strategy. Having the Forwards think they should shoot on a break and never pass is not.
  6. the game only stays loaded while paused when you're in live mode. In replay mode you only have a couple of minutes when u pause before it kicks you out. last night I had the game paused from 8 p.m. Until 1 AM.
  7. That is not always the case. I watch all games on-demand later in the evening and there have been a handfull of games that didnt become available until the next morning. Sucked!! Now what I do is open up the game in the viewer when it is live and pause it. If I do this anytime during the live event it actually backfills(buffers?) to the begining. (I dont know if the data is buffered onto my pc or it just keeps the portal open to the server?) In either case the game stays loaded on the media player as long I don't have an inturuption to my internet connection and my pc doesn't go to sleep. i can then watch the game when the kiddies and wife are sound asleep and I have the TV room all to myself,, ahhhh!! Short of actually being at the game, there is no better way to watch a Sioux game! Especially in Colorado .
  8. Sounds like this dude should be taking a cab?
  9. I say we chop off the little punks hand!
  10. Maybe Midco could sell the get on your feet song to Western Michigan?
  11. I haven't played an instrument since the drums in Junior High band so I have zero expertise in the matter but you have got to be talking about the female holding the guitar and moving around like some pretend musician in a Disney channel after school show about the battle of the bands 13 yr old division.
  12. I think it's time to let Midco know how we feel about this one...
  13. When you ran for student council did you win? Go SIOUX!!
  14. I have been seeing Murphy a bit more the last few games. He seems to be developing a little confidence. Johnson could settle in as a good player in the offensive zone soon as well. The most promising thing for me lately is Rodwell and Chyzyc playing some hard nosed hockey along the offensive boards. Also, Rocco is starting to get more noticeable out there, I think he may been getting back to his pre knee surgery form soon here(yes I think it has taken him this much time). The biggest disappointment the last couple of weeks has been Caligula. If he doesn't start to do something I'm going to have to start calling him Caggiula. I liked the posts on here referring to the lack of moving the feet and reaching. There has been a ton of reaching this year that is for sure. More than I have ever seen. On top of that it has been pretty annoying how often we have been leaving opponents uncovered in the middle in our zone. This is just poor team game planning/preparation/execution. Lots of good possibilities on the blue line. This team can still get good-I believe! We need at least one guy to start scoring though...
  15. Hey now!#$ If you cover one eye our team is awesome!
  16. I saw that on T.V. you tricked me though, I thought you were going to give it to the kid below her. Almost as if you changed recipients in mid stream hand-off. lol
  17. Last nights game was absolutely the worst game I have personally witnessed by the Sioux. I almost threw up it was so bad. Did we win one puck battle?? Despite this I have not forgotten last Sat night in Boston. That game was one of the better games I have ever seen the Sioux play. So having a respect for the scientific method's I learned at UND and employing the fair competition practices from the game of H.O.R.S.E. I will hold judgment until I get some more conclusive data. ..I will offer one opinion from the game last night. The timeout that was called by Hak last night was, I feel, ill timed. It was at the crescendo of momentum in our favor for the entire night and I think it wasted it. never slow things down when your on it. and for 90% of the night we were not on it. He called the time out in the midst of our 10% on it period. It is hard to know but I wonder sometimes if Hak doesn't sometimes micro manage the players??
  18. I think the Sioux sweep in fashion this weekend. Hope to see O'Donnell, the General, Caligula, Johnson, Parks, and Rocco light it up!
  19. I did not intend to compare Rocco and Nelson on a skill set by skill set basis. My only intention was to counter the idea that as an overall player Rocco is not a grade below Nelson in said years. Time will answer this question the most. Overall, in the college game as a value to their team, they are on the same level at least. and yes, as I pointed out from the beginning, Rocco is an assist man and yes we need to get him a finisher. It could be O'Donnell? heck after seeing the poise out of Pattyn on Sat maybe he could be the man. He might have some Bochenski in him? Otherwise I totally agree with pretty much every post on here following mine last night. Only exception would be that Rocco doesn't pass. He absolutely passes and when he does they are usually things of beauty. I hope we see more nights like last Sat so you can see what we are talking about.
  20. Especially with all those people they surveyed that one time at that one place. Good info. On it. Que music... Song still sucks, Song still sucks, Song still sucks,
  21. a coupe of other things I am noticing the last few games(and in a pronounced fashion this last Sat night); -From the defensive zone through neutral, the defensemen have been feeding the forwards with very accurate passes that the forwards have been receiving in great position. (still want to see them drop it to the trailer after they gain the zone when the situation is right) -almost the whole team has been showing some high-end intelligence with the utilization of open space and ice. Some of the best I have seen since DOT. (it's early yet I know, but I'm seeing it, and hey I saw Frattin pretty early too ) ... I;m just say'n... -starting to see some good forechecking on a couple lines.
  22. No flaming but I disagree with your assessment. First of all putting a '13-'14 Rocco down one in a comparison with the '11-'12 Nelson is silly. Second I think this team has more overall talent front to back than the '11-'12 team. The biggest X factor will be in net.. I think I read in another post that you did not see much of the games this weekend? In any case the team looked very impressive especially on Sat night. I wrote the following in the Sat game thread:
