  1. http://dailycaller.com/2016/09/12/journalist-charged-with-trespassing-after-reporting-on-north-dakota-protests/ Just another lazy reporter not doing their homework on the Fighting Sioux nickname.
  2. The committee member that threw that idea out there should have to have her own budget adjusted to DII levels.
  3. Times have changed now students have to be bribed to support their team.
  4. Easy to find when you are a fan of the team.
  5. I don't think it shows leadership to micro-manage and react to everything said in initial committee meetings.
  6. Just wondering if every college ice arena has their school's logo in their ice? No way to know but what' the big deal unless the media makes it one.
  7. I live near St. Cloud. Al Pearson's bus always stays at the Best Western Plus Kelly Inn that is connected to the Green Mill Restaurant and the convention center. The fans hang out at MC's Dugout a short walk from the Kelly Inn. In the past there has been a joint St. Cloud/UN fan social Saturday around 4;30 at Brother's Pub which is also a close walk from the Kelly Inn.

There really are no dives. Staying downtown is great because there are lots of really good restaurants.

  8. I like to keep things in perspective - I would love a win at BG and think it it is possible. I'm not going out on the ledge if we start 0-2. I believe that 8-3 in the BIg Sky makes the playoffs and I think that is achievable barring any more injuries of key players. I also think that 7-4 could make the playoffs if the Big Sky has a representative in the room with some balls. I still don't read or hear much that allows me to believe that the Big Sky as a whole goes to bat for UND or even cares about us - plenty of examples over the past years with the playoff snub being one of them and conference awards being another. With all the discussion about looking into a different conference if everything fell into place I would have no problem with a move. I would definitely be willing to go on road trips that were between 200 - 400 miles.
  9. If a win is better than a lost how does a 6-5 team get in over a 7-4 team?
  10. It was predicted to be slugfest and it was a slugfest. They had a great defense. Our defense gave up 7 points. Our offense looked shaky in the first game of the season. Last year teams got into the playoffs wit 5 losses and some are writing off the season after one loss. Find something positive - it's a game being played by student athletes. Look out the window the sun came up. Enjoy the season.
  11. Just logged in ...is this a fan site?
  12. They are picked 6th in an East Coast conference, we were picked 4th in the Big Sky. I do respect them as an opponent but I see UND winning this by more than one touchdown.
  13. I hope President Kennedy sees that comment as an embarrasment to him and his selection choice.
  14. I believe in the years it was successful it was because there were a couple of player parents that organized it. I am pretty sure the football department helped with logistics.
  15. They have a shot if they are "quality losses"
  16. Announcers kept harping on theirlack of depth. They had some injuries too last night. Youcould say lack of depth ie: experience was what kept us out of playoffs
  17. UND was right around 39 out of 123 schools in home attendance for football last year. Room for improvement but far from "Sad".
  18. Ah but you got to create this without having to deal with all the personal agenda's and politics that will be in the room. This is a totally defendable criteria - unless changing conference is the first item on the agenda.
  19. Was Lowell or anyone else on this committee on the nickname committee?
  20. Just thinking out load it seems to be no matter how much we lose it would be tough to cut women's hockey. First of all that's a large number of women's scholarships with Title IV issues, second then the men's hockey team has the Ralph all to themselves with the private chef and all the perks - the feminists would be screaming, they have the facility and it needs to be used more than just for one team and the local outcry would be enormous based on Grand Forks being a hockey town.
  21. The Montana schools always brings a respectful group based on distance. I think the South Dakota schools and the one down south would be the only ones that have football fans that travel in bunches. The MV made a mistake not offering UND now they realize that UND can/will have solid teams, has great facilities, great academics and great fans - not to mention a national powerhouse in a "niche" sport (sarcasm). UND would do nothing but strengthen the conference.
  22. Aren"t all coaches in South Dakota on one year contracts and can't a coach be fired at will. Not seeing the big deal about being in the "final year" of contract.
  23. Actually it was shared that SU used its leverage against UND.
  24. Well he's done enough to not have his contract renewed and be put on double secret probation,
  25. If Taj is healthy he'll be all conference he had several games with double digit tackles before the injury. Great example of a kid who stuck it out during the transition.
