In no way can I see Berry being able to give a pre-game speech at the NCHC that involves anything more than playing for pride and not taking chances on getting hurt/suspended. The players know it as well - that tournament is about seeding and nothing else - of course you play to win and you play for the pride of the team but at the end of the day they don't need to come barreling out of the locker room foaming at the mouth for a victory. Pretty sure they all understand that it's win or go home from now on.

Uh I believe we lost two at the NCHC last year and we made it to the Frozen Four - I'm saying what happens at the NCHC has no bearing on what happens in the national tournament.

We will be hosting a party at the Ultimate Sports Bar in Waite Park, MN (St. Cloud) starting at noon. Tom the owner is very supportive of UND, this is the place that Al Pearson's bus stops at when it makes it's annual trip to St. Cloud. The food is good, lots of smaller TV and a giant big screen that will have our game on it. Party starts at noon - it's gonna be a Good Friday.

At a UND football game last year the ROTC was tossing toy hand grenades into the crowd, when you pulled the string it vibrated. I caught one and gave it to the kid sitting behind me - but I was just waiting for a letter of outrage in the paper the following week. In hindsight it probably wasn't that great of an idea i'm guessing there is a box of them gathering dust someone once a liberal administrator found out about them.

I want to see the UND team that wants to win it all and everything inbetween...to bring home all the hardware. Keep the foot on the gas.

Sorry to be a synic but in order for this to happen someone within the athletic department would have to actually care about the spring game and want to invest some thought and time into how to make is something for the fans. A couple of years ago they tried some things like grilling competitions and other activities - while they didn't draw an enormous number of people it did generate interest in the spring.

Which actually makes it even more amazing that DU is able to be one of the best teams year after year - high tuition, no fan base.

Check Groupon - last year they were available there - although this year with more teams that are closer the good seats will be gone but this tournament will never sell out the Target Center.

If UND doesn't do well this weekend I'm going to have to rethink my commitment to attending the NCHC - really this tournament is for those that need to move up in the Pairwise. Yes it is a great weekend of Sioux socializing but if other teams have to win and there is no need for UND to be concerned about the outcomes, what happens on the ice really hasn't been that entertaining as a Sioux fan the past two years. Add in the poor quality ice, rink doors opening during play, ticket session fiascos... We shall see...
