  1. He's preparing the old "injury" excuse. They are a part of every season - last year our injuries lost us at least two games. You put your best team on the field and may the best team win - that will be UND.
  2. I attribute the light discussion in this tread on the holidays, the focus on attendance discussion, our Scandinavian culture which does not lend itself to boastfulness or a need to share. Plus we have great coverage in our local paper and a football blog that aren't visible to outsiders. Here are my thoughts (Norwegian culture hesitation aside): We are healthy - which all season we have not been but we still won 9 straight We are a blocked punt and missed two-point conversion from 11-0. I highly doubt that Richmond has faced a defense the likes of UND. Even when we don't get the sacks it's very disruptive to the quarterback. Two running backs that are all conference - both have proven they are able to rip on the big run. We don't like to be overconfident publicly (we are also Minnesota Vikings fans) but secretly we can't wait for your quarterback to face our defense and our atmosphere. All season we had a tendency to keep games close but don't misconstrue that with not being in control of a game. Those games that we weren't in control of we still found a way to win. We have been quite successful at adjusting at halftime you can find stats about that on this site. Gonna stop here because most of us don't like reading disertations on a fan site. Welcome to Grand Forks - please walk the tailgating area with your spidey clothes you will be welcomed.
  3. Facts are a troll's worst enemy.
  4. Just read from Schlossman that UND will be practicing in 3 rinks out east in preparation for this one game. With UND facing budget issues and most recently putting many of the programs up in front of a Panel of Death this seems like a very expensive road trip for one game. Where does the money come from?
  5. There are a lot of people who cannot afford $25 for a football ticket. It's going to be fine. TIcket purchase trend is positive. Just seems confusing that there is more discussion on ticket sales than the game. It will be what it will be - 35 pages of discussion on attendance?
  6. I do hope I am wrong. Hindsight that post probably wasn't necessary - thanks to those who ponied up for the students.
  7. I like Taj - he's had his ups and downs - dang he's a real stud that's had bad luck with injuries but stuck it out through it all - I would really like to see him out there.
  8. Sorry to be Debbie Downer but the biggest problem with free tickets for anything is that the person with the tickets has no skin in the game and the possibility of that ticket getting used is pretty low. It's 5 bucks those that are interested will find the money. If you ask a student if they want a free ticket they will probably take it but the odds that they will use it and stay past half time are pretty low.
  9. If we were at 50% this weekend heads would explode on this thread.
  10. According to Wikipedia the Alerus can hold 20,000 people - I didn't think it had that capacity for football - that must be with seating on the floor as well.
  11. Since they are 4-2 now you are predicting they go 12-13 the rest of the season?
  12. Hey it's not your job to be the anti-fan there are plenty of those around here.
  13. We are getting hosed by the refs.
  14. Playing confident against a Big 12. However you are not gonna get a call in that arena.
  15. If winning 9 games in a row and being Co-Champs of the Big Sky doesn't get us respect from some - then they are among those that will never respect us. We beat Richmond and they will say - you beat a team without it's starting quarterback. With three week rest we should be at a peak. I am confident not arrogant that we win this game.
  16. No matter what the announced opening time I have never seen them block off the tailgating lot - go for it.
  17. Do the other schools get to blame their hockey fans?
  18. They got one. Had to be rough to be in Dayton for Thanksgiving - thanks guys! Keep getting better.
  19. I think the point has been made..less than 10,000 disappointing, less than 9,000 gnashing of teeth and tearing of clothes, less than 8,000 pit hforks and torches. Personally all i can do is show up and make noise.
  20. But why should we be called out for biased posts within our own fan site...contribute to the conversation as a guest and stop monitoring and questioning every biased post we are allowed to be biased hete.
  21. I was at the games - the score does not indicate the dominance and UND is coming off 3 weeks of rest. I'm not concerned. Compared to what I saw yesterday there will be a crowd noise advantage and Richmond has not faced a defense scheme like ours.
  22. Gag I hate feeding the trolls but how come when a MVFC team loses it's because they "were off their game" or "got bad bounces or "it was a one in a million loss" or my favorite "it was a quality loss"., But when other teams lose none of these excuses apply? Now that UND is much closer in the rear view mirror, winning conference champions, coaching and player awards the only thing trolls have left is to try and transfer their poison by dissing other teams that they probably can't even name the city they are from. However it is nice that most of them have been shut up for the season. Weber was a last in seed - not a real surprise they lost. Cal Poly hurt but they have a history of fading. The reality is the Big Sky had a better OOC record against the MVFC this year - oh I forgot all of the above excuses apply when that happens on the field.
  23. A lot of hand sitting today.
  24. free throws they can't miss we can't make...sigh
  25. Not really interested in feeding you -
