Members of the coaching staff often stop by. Parents of players are fun to meet and talk football with. There is plenty of excellent food being prepared and plenty being shared. When the weather is nice there is nothing better, when the weather is bad it gives you stories of survival for future conversations. The Champions Club tent always has a UND team to meet and chat with. You never know what former players are going to walk by. It's a bison-free zone.

Actually speaks highly of the program that assistants are getting hired by other schools (Yes, if you try you can always put a negative spin on something). Wonder if he was our only connection to Oklahoma.

Yes he's thankful they've removed such a negative stereotype from the public - a logo that was honored and respected by an institution of higher learning. Hope he can now spend his time on all the secondary problems Native Americans face. I'm sure he will. -

Unfortunately all this does is keep it in the media. Anyone who voted for Fighting Hawks and signed that petition is a hypocrite. UND wanted a safe nickname and they got one, they wanted a safe logo and they got one. -

Actually based on the current student participation rate at football games all it takes to sit in the front row is to show up. -
Yes it's awesome and gratifying that you and your son enjoyed the experience but not surprising! UND has a long history of football success and student-athlete success. In the end it's about the education and the life experience which is also where UND shines. When he makes his formal decision know there is always a place for player parents in the tailgating area.

The sad thing is these trolls cannot understand that this is a UND site and sometimes people just want to have a little fun and poke a rival. They are like the guy who walks into your tailgate spot with a Moo. U shirt on and wonders why the conversation stops. If you know anything about Philly fans this will come back to haunt him after his first bad game. I wonder if the trolls are going to monitor the Eagle fan board and respond to every Wentz comment .

I believe in Bubba and his staff so I therefore believe they had a long talk with this young man about second chances and that they have very high expectations for his behavior off the field.

I agree - I intend to continue the "Sioux Shots" at tailgating until they rip the shot board from my cold......" The tailgaters are already a very welcoming group now imagine if it was double or trip the number.

What gets lost in this fiasco is that the east coast agency that was hired to run the process was focused on ensuring we came away with a safe and politically correct name NOT a unique and creative one, so it was very easy for them to push aside the guiding principles they were given.

So do you think if "Nokota" would have been chosen internally, without public input, the masses would have been more willing to move on?

I would have never worn either. Like Ed said when you leave it up to the masses that's what you get. I would still love to hear from someone on the committee how they could possibly justify having North Star on the list.
