  1. Not fair or ethical to connect any student athlete with even remote speculations about breaking the law.
  2. There is no reason to ever post this on our site.
  3. What gets lost in this fiasco is that the east coast agency that was hired to run the process was focused on ensuring we came away with a safe and politically correct name NOT a unique and creative one, so it was very easy for them to push aside the guiding principles they were given.
  4. So do you think if "Nokota" would have been chosen internally, without public input, the masses would have been more willing to move on?
  5. I would have never worn either. Like Ed said when you leave it up to the masses that's what you get. I would still love to hear from someone on the committee how they could possibly justify having North Star on the list.
  6. Other than it making the final five how were we almost Sundogs anymore than we were almost the North Stars?

    2016 Season

We've had threads on this before. No reason to allow people to reserve tailgating spots and then never show up - happens every year. Huge empty gaps in the lot between sites and the excuse we hear is "They paid their money they get their spot" well if they never use it they should be moved further out. They need to get people more excited about tailgating - shake it up, loosen the rules, offer incentives. As far as no Champions Club tent for the last game that is on the members of the Champions Club - a majority in attendance are over age 70 and don't want to be outside in a tent in November when the temperature drops - I understand why they don't have a tent when less than a dozen show up (they move it inside for the last game). It only costs about $130 bucks to get started in the Champions Club the benefits easily surpass the cost.
  8. Adding a new dorm - interesting - it seems the trend on other campuses is to move away from dorms as today's students prefer independence and many amenities that living in a dorm room can't provide. But I'll assume they've done their homework and know what they are doing.
  9. I believe the Summer Trolldom's have hit early this year.
  10. So let me get this straight - hockey is a niche sport and therefore not worthy of discussion as far as being successful in collegiate sports, but now it matters where our golf and tennis teams finish as far as a reflection of being successful in collegiate sports? And as far as the importance of the all sports standings in a conference - that isn't even on the radar as far as importance in measuring the success of a university's collegiate sports program.
  11. Can we start a thread called "Daily FU Affirmations" and hope the trolls just post there so they can share them with each other? Otherwise it's time to rev up the FU Fantasy league:Here are some suggestions on how you might earn points: 1 point for getting a troll response to a comment. 2 points if the troll is new and has less than 25 posts 3 points if you get a troll to mention football in a non-football thread 3 points for saying hockey is a niche sport that no one cares about. 5 points for getting a reference on Bison-swille (Bonus point if mentioned by name) Draft day is June 31.
  12. Doesn't matter who you are if he slaps it on a hockey jersey that's an infringement. On a hat or regular shirt he might get away with it because UND can't tell someone they can't make artwork of a hawk.
  13. You are confusing chat on a fan board with "UND fans" as a whole and to say UND isn't competitive in FBS is asinine trolling.
  14. Hmmm I wonder if any female student athletes from a certain nearby "State" university are following this. The numbers seem similar.
  15. Now the BNO says "Be patient with Wentz". Yah like that is gonna happen in Philadephia. I do wish him the best but leave it to the Forum lackies to start backpedaling before pre-season even starts.
  16. http://www.grandforksherald.com/sports/local-sports/4022509-unc-baseball-coach-und-making-mistake Pretty easy for a coach from another school to spend UND's money. "Hey Coach" what do you think about UND dropping baseball?" - response - "I think that was a tough decision UND had to make based on their budget and their goals for the future." (What no college baseball coach would ever say.) So if you asked 100 college baseball coaches their opinion on whether UND should keep its baseball team what do you think they would say? It's not like UND just put programs in a hat and pulled them out.

    Jerseys

Well for all the newcomers there's always Siouxpride.com
  18. There is no way they are opening this issue again. For as much praise as Kelly received from some during his tenure this process, along with the budget issue will be his legacy. I am quite certain UND is in his rear view mirror and getting smaller all the time. As far as the current cuts, it's not uncommon to bring in an interim leader to make the messy unpopular decisions before the hand-off so the new president can start with a clean slate and doesn't have to step in and make enemies. You see it all the time in corporate lay-offs.
  19. I'll bite. I assume it's a good thing because I assume that the people in charge of the hiring process are competent and diligent and know much more about the qualities and experience needed to be a conference commissioner than I do. (not sarcasm).
  20. I'm using the Parise logic on Carson. When Zach was a Sioux Minnesota hated him now that he a Wild they love him. Sooooo ....now that Carson is an Eagle I can cheer for him as an Eagle's fan and just ignore what college he attended. (or laugh when the announcers say he attended "North Dakota").
  21. UND fans in a UND Chat Room should be able to talk about whatever they want without having a troll butt in and contradict, question or defend what is being talked about. It's a site for UND fans.
  22. Crap - now we have to wait for that news. Let's not speculate name please.
  23. Yah and we had a guy that wanted his own hockey suite - and he wrote a check. (and yet I can find no reason why I would ever go to Bison-swille and share that.)
  24. http://www.grandforksherald.com/sports/4017742-college-baseball-specifics-laid-out-keep-und-baseball-alive So all the reasons it was logical to drop baseball are out the window if someone else pays for it? So many landmines here: 1. What if they raise most of the money but not all - is the raised money returned? 2. Does the perception that baseball is a stepchild and not really something UND wanted to keep around impact recruiting and staffing? 3. Are they going to come up with plans with every other department/major/sport that gets cut - how much to save the International Center, music therapy? 4. What if they make the playoffs or have other unforseen expenses- will UND foot the bill for expenses not in the annual budget? 5. Based on the fact that UND has more sports than most schools its size, that baseball is in a conference that UND has no other affiliation with, the travel costs, the annual weather issues, Is it worth it or just delaying the pain. These all sound pretty negative but I'm not anti-baseball, from what I read UND is trying to right-size itself for the future and baseball didn't fit into that future.
