What's the benefit of being on a "Friends" list - or should I reword that to, Are you guys "friends with benefits"?

Except that half of the comments on this subject are from FU trolls whether their nickname reveals that or not, and they are here posting during the weeks before their team plays for a national championship and you can easily find twice as many threads and posts that mention UND on Bison-swille as here.

I think the media would put a pretty big negative spin on it if the Alerus turned them down. "Alerus refuses access to NDSU football team". It was build with tax payer dollars so it's their job to take any revenue paying gig they can get to make money. Now they just have to worry about the locker rooms being trashed or ripped off. I hope they asked for a big retainer to cover vandalism and theft.

Do we have to go through this all again - of course FU wanted the game to continue they had just gone through a decade of losing just about every game to UND, the Flagship School in the state, FU had more scholarships, had scheduling issues and a transition schedule to fill, while UND was playing for playoffs and needed games that counted - FU had everything to gain. Of course now the shoe is on the other foot but at least the scholarship playing field is equal. The reality is there are just as many people who don't care if they play every year and some don't care if they ever play again (with the current FU AD being #1). It's been shared ad nasium by FU fans that there is no benefit to FU in playing the game - probably right. There is also no benefit to UND to play the game in Fargo. UND had one of the best schedules in FCS last year - it would have been nice to win more of the games but the schedule was great and would not have improved with a road game to FU. And no need for revisionist snide remarks from trolls - yes FU has the better team on paper and would probably beat UND handily right now - but the reality is until the game is played on the field it is a mythical victory (and based on other sports results it's one the FU AG is wanting to leave it at that.).

So was it really unrealistic to expect (and I'm being sarcastic here): a pain-free process that includes firing the current coach and staff, having a national search that brings in top candidates from around the country, losing no ground in recruiting, having daily public press conferences sharing all the details of what was happening, usurping the standard state hiring requirements, preventing any current players from transferring and having it all done in 10 days or less. Is that too much to expect?

Did I miss something? Wasn't it just someone saying that they were concerned that there is no one to keep the current players confident and connected and he was mentioned because of his talent? Just a question that has now become a rumor?

Looks like you shouldn't have skipped those remedial english classes. So now the results of what happens on the court don't mean anything - typical. Don't you have something to smack about on Bison-swille? Who cares what Isso posts - he's paid to be a FU lacky. If Pflugard were chosen comes in and runs a straight up program (with wins) his past becomes ancient history. I agree the new coach won't be chosen by the media or the fans - I'm an old guy and remember that for one example Gino was not the first pick of the media (ie: Grand Forks Herald) but that worked out.

Still the best Division I Mens BB Team in the state. Soon to have the #1 Womens BB Team in the state - proving it on the court. (this in no way reflects that I am happy with the current state of affairs - gotta turn it around and get the team playing like a Big Sky contender before it's too late.)

Based on recent NCAA decisions (host sites) it seems we will never overcome their politics - plus it's obvious they pick and choose what to enforce and who to punish. Punish the guy from Montana, let the SEC coaches do what they want whenever they want. If you win they can't keep you out of the playoffs but they can make the decision on where you will play. I trust Faison will make the choice based on who the best candidate is and that may mean not having ties to UND.

I think I posted this earlier when there was a question about what happened to the mugs at Frency's. Frenchy was at homecoming about 2-3 years ago just sitting in a chair and taking it all in, still had the Frenchy moustache. When somone introduced him to me we reminised for awhile about how a guy could get into Frenchy's no matter how old you were if you were associated with a UND team. He did share that it bothered him that he was never inducted into any UND Hall of Fame - I believe they have a special one for UND boosters. He also told me all the mugs were bought by someone and sold on Ebay.
