Dude - we dd it on own fan board - not someone elses. Every post you make here is proof.

Once agan so litle going on at FU that all there is to do is continue to show the inferiorty complex about UND. Once a Flagship always a Flagship - the sooner you accept that the less time you waste having UND take up space in your head.
-
How does that go again? It was their Super Bowl. It meant more to them than to us It was just anther game UND's goal is to win the Big Sky again and play in the NCAA tournament
-
You trolls need to get together and agree on something - last year the standard troll message was none of the minor sports count. Of course our standard message is that for your cross country and soceer teams UND was their super bowl.
-
I would like to hear from the Mods on how this thread is even remotely appropiate to a UND Fan Site. Don't give me that "We want to hear from everyone" crap - this thread was not started by someone who "Just wants to bring an outside perspective". There is no way any other fan board would allow a thread like this to be posted much less stay. If all you want is trolls and BS you are well on your way to driving many legitimate UND fans who just want to talk about our teams away.

So you could get 50 to pony up the dough and have Sioux Forever license plates made? UND doesn not own the word "Sioux". I'm not a ND resident otherwise I would check into this.
-
Hey Cratter got any new gizmos with your tailgating rig - we picked up an extra space -and asked to be moved away from you that cost us a little more in Champions club dues.
-
I think there is huge opportunity for UND football staring them in the face - start selling "Bubba Hats" with the UND Football logo on them - hey "Cheese heads" started out an insult and now it's a badge of honor
-
So why not the UND Brave - based on the pioneer spirit of ND settlers and even the air force base being located nearby? (of course there is a subtle reference to the native american term "Braves" but someone will always find something wrong with any name.)

Does the Hockey Team Have a Disruptive Alcohol Culture?
CMSioux replied to Cratter's topic in Men's Hockey
As was posted earlier here, I heard on the radio that 24 football players at Duluth got nailed for underage drinking. The announcer then said, "If they would have been hockey players the police would have looked the other way." -
Thanks for taking the time - so many of us are so tired of having to revisit the facts whenever a new troll comes o board - trolls live on revising history and pulling facts out of thin air.

I'm more of a realistic than an optimist. I was hoping for no blow-out but more so I was hoping to see good tackling and crisp play calling and fewer mistakes. What I saw is what we all know - it starts with OL and DL, which were both overmatched. The year we beat UNI you can point at the lines being able to hold their own and often dominate which opens up a lot of options. Gonna be rough against the top tier this year - anyone who thought otherwise wasn't paying attention. I'll be there for every home game supporting the team and it won't be by second guessing the staff or dissing any players - and I will never use the word "suck" when discussing any UND team - not my style.

Only caught the first half but liked what Alex T brings - sounds like he let a punt get behind him in the second half but gotta appreciate him coming north for one season.

Yup the Sioux Bar in St. Cloud is all set up for it. When I called and asked if he had ESPN3 on any TVs he asked if I was a Sioux fan without me evening sharing that was the game I wanted. It's the Ultimate Sports Bar in Waite Park, MN.
-
So does that mean that even the best sports bar won't be able to televise ESPN3?

Gotta love the trolls - how many schools that schedule OOC schedule more than one or two years out - the fact that there is "no return game" is pure conjecture and just another attempt at being able to say "See now THIS really proves that we are better". The reality is the last time they played UND hosted so it was FU's turn to host for the first game, the follow-up game is actually game 1 of a new series, probably not annually but also probably not all in Fargo (NO ONE KNOWS). But if FU trolls need to spin this to feed their inferiority we are used to that.
-
Perhaps it's been pointed out but if UND hosted the last game that was played it was FU's turn to host the next game, they then get to host the next game (2019) and UND will host the following game (ain't no way the third game is in Fargo). So it really is just getting back on track.

I have always been able to find UND fans on a football road trip.
-
However I would say that even if UND had already chosen a new nickname those shirts would have still been made and somehow UND would have still been blamed (for not totally banishing the logo from campus for example - which again would not have stopped this situation from happening.)

http://www.grandforksherald.com/content/letter-und-teams-north-dakota-works-just-fine Perhaps this is a losing battle for reasons we don't know at this time but but then again maybe a campaign needs to be started to "Keep it North Dakota" before behind the scenes decisions start to be made and we are told "The decision has been made." I'm hoping that Hal is enough of an insider he can keep an eye on this.

Obviously postings on this thread can not be taken as a representation of what a majority of fans might think. On the other hand our athletic department going public with the statement they might be willing to schedule a single game in Fargo means someone with money or power wants the game from UNDs side. I am perfectly happy with our football schedule and very willing to let it go - the series has ended and the history books will forever show what the win/loss record between the two school is.

Here's one definition - but you no doubt know more than Mr. Olson - the reference to being in Division I i athletics is one point that is debated by many. Gary Olson at The Chronicle of Higher Education offers the following definition: While the criteria used to determine flagship status will vary from state to state, typically a state’s flagship is its land-grant institution. It is likely to be the university with the highest research profile and the most doctoral programs. It may house the state’s medical school, law school, or both. And it may be the largest and best endowed university in the state. Membership in the prestigious Association of American Universities may be yet another factor, and NCAA Division I athletics is a must.

UND now considering taking the role of the bigger man and discussing the possibility of the first two games beng in Fargo just perpetuates the never-ending inferiority complex of FU. If this comes to pass, once again their insecure egos will be able to say "See now THIS really shows that we are better." Even though UND is and always will be The Flagship, continues to be #1 in the areas that really matter (hint it's not sports). What's ironic is they missed the chance to crush UND Football with the unlevel playing field they held because of the transition. All they have is mythical when it comes to football it never happened on the field and even having what many consider to be the best sports year in FU history they went 0-6 instate. UND Alums with lots of money must really want this game and I'm okay with that because obviously it is going to keep their donations coming. Otherwise UND wouldn't be considering it - follow the money it always leads to the answer.

What I can't figure out is why the administrators haven't banned the Bi-Son trolls. They violate rules of posting and respectful conversation regularly and bring nothing of value to any discussion. They are anti-UND, highjack every thread and know nothing about our team or our school. Outside perspective is one thing but allowing the never ending trolling of these antagonists is just a poor reflection on the way this board is administered. Just ban them. There are many loyal UND fans who no longer come here because of them - which right now has the trolls wetting their pants with glee.

The reason I stated it as "It's already a policy - unspoken perhaps" is the way it was shared with me. I was wearing a "Once a Sioux, always a Sioux" shirt and was doing some business on campus. The UND employee said she liked my shirt and i told her I could get her one. She volunteered that they weren't allowed to wear Fighting Sioux logo wear while on the job because someone might assume they were "pro-nickname". It was in Wilkerson Hall. Now I didn't ask if that was a campus-wide policy and just left it at that. I had another woman purchase a Once a Sioux, always a Sioux shirt and she shared she was an employee at UND and knew she would never be able to wear it while on the job - so yes just hear-say I will admit.
