Cutting baseball and golf could be deemed a 1 year fix. Reason being Faison knew the budget shortfall will be much worse next year and that cut is not nearly enough. Cutting one sport that returns zero revenue from their 2+ million dollar budget would have solved their problems. Reallocate scholarships to US students with reciprocity and add roster spots to those teams. Done. But he got out voted again.
-
The problem is Faison is out-voted by his female counterparts on Athletic Department issues. One wanted to save Swimming and the other Hockey. So what gets cut? Baseball. The sport with no rep in the room and a miniscule shoestring budget. Complete waste of time. The budget is worse next year and there isn't anymore male sports to cut. Uh oh.

Did they actually have somebody there taking tickets at these hockey games? Or did they count people from the press box?

#butrpi That is a blow to the Summit as they have tried to convince anybody who would listen they are better than leagues like the Horizon, albeit, based only on the stupid RPI ratings that many pundits rip apart. The really funny part is Tom Billeter from Augie interviewed at UW-Milwaukee, who is also in the Horizon. So in the Horizon world Nagy is equal to Billeter, D2 to Summit.

Read her About on that website. Talk about somebody you don't want to have a beer with, yeesh. Academia lives in a different world than the rest of us.

The smart thing to do is attend one of the camps. Camps used to be about going to learn something and have fun, etc. Now they are very important recruiting tools for colleges. 19 of UND's 23 signees went to their camp. What does that tell you? If it's a debate between two players, the staff goes with the known entity. The one they saw with their own eyes in their own camp.

To add to that: "I'm not going to compromise who I am and I am not going to compromise our culture for anything," Richman said. "The right way is going to pay off and be more beneficial for us in the long run." I can say that from all I have been told, this is far from the case with our program. Hence, the difference in the product on the floor and results.

Height will hurt him. He will need to show in mini camp he can play at 5'10".

You posted that Media poll once already, we got it. How about the Coaches?

How about the Coaches poll?
-
They were picked 8th and finished 5th. That isn't a reason to extend a coach who has been there 10 years. If there is another reason , maybe. But not that.
-
Because there is no in between. It's Jones or Coach K when it comes to CBB coaches.
-
Per my sources you are wrong. There is plenty of angst in the AD. And the "talk" about improving has already been had before this season. Your only response is that UND "cannot afford to fire him". That's it. You never defend his peformance or lack thereof. Says a lot.
-
They won't be raising fees so the general students can fund the athletes beer/food money. So they are starting off fine , IMO.

Don't think the CC credits count for anything. However, the caveat is he enrolled last summer for six credits, I believe. That is huge.

But won't happen before spring ball is what I am told.

Here are the facts per my buddy, who is a highly-educated strength coach. I asked him the question above and here was his answer: "Research indicates that strength training through a full range of motion will promote strength and growth in ligaments, tendons, and other joint structures in the respective joint. Training through a partial range of motion may increase strength in the muscle, however it does not influence the other joint structures that are important to joint stability". This is what you are seeing in the videos. Full range of motion and for the record, they are NOT maxing out in those videos. Not sure where that came from. They are doing 2-3 rep sets. "More than likely, UND is progressing to heavier loads this week being their spring football starts next week. So the last week will probably be 1-3 rep sets, etc. This is standard procedure across the country. However, technique is the most crucial part and those that don't have it do not make it to the point of heavy, low rep sets. Bad technique causes injury, not weight." I know for a fact that freshmen with average technique will not be performing heavy-low rep sets for these reasons. That has been the case for years. Regarding the squat question that some have raised in the past for some stupid reason: "Research has shown that deep squats work more muscles than any other form of partial squats since they involve a full range of motion. Since the full squat works more muscles, they enable the trainee to become stronger faster than through partial movements. Full squats actually help to stabilize and secure the knee joint.” End of discussion on squats. EVERY program in the country has their entire team doing squats and cleans, and that includes QB's, WR's, and such. _________________ There you have the reasoning behind the progression to heavier loads at the end of the workout season. Now my opinion based on past comments about why UND had so many ACL injuries during a 3-4 year time span. Pre-existing injuries were a contributor to more than half of those ACL injuries. Back injuries, previous ACL injuries, quad issues all led to those injuries in former UND players. Lets remember it was like 2-4 a year, so if there were pre-existing conditions then it really only happened to one fully healthy player. Not weight lifting's fault. There are 100+ players on the team. Summer Effort Leading Into Fall Camp: Not all of the players felt it was in their best interest to show up at workouts in GF come summer session. This led to injuries. Indisputable. Talent. Like it or not, if you are not as talented as the guys across from you then you are going to get put in bad positions repeatedly. You are going to be vulnerable out there by being a step behind or weaker than your opponent. This leads to poor technique on the field, which leads to possible injuries. Think about it, if you are the alpha male out there, you are probably not going to be put in a vulnerable position very often. That player is going to create issues for others damn near every play, he will play fast and confident. It would take a fluke play to injure him, like Z. Arnell's injury this year. Lets look at this past season and who got injured: Z. Arnell: dipsh*t NDSU TE dove into the back of his knee and broke his leg. Tyler Coyne: freshman knee injury in fall camp before practice began. Taj Rich: knee injury. Non-contact. Kyle Ruhe: knee injury. Non -contact. Jawon Arrington: never healthy from the get go, ankle injury. Brady Oliveira: knee got rolled up on running the ball. Not anybody's fault. Cole Reyes: back of the knee bone injury. Missed a couple games. Drew Greely: collarbone.

Outlook: 2 weeks remaining in regular season

Getting that #4 seed is huge. -
We would never take that attitude with any school and their players. This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for under the radar kids to perform in front of scouts. Those with any sort of shot at all would/should be welcome to come show their talents at the HPC. There might not be another chance for most of them.

Very sorry to hear that. These type of games, whether HS or College, seem to be popping up more and more and most of the new one's usually end up being a disaster. How did this game get popular with the Canada prospects and what did they say is the benefit of playing in it? Who was the liaison up there promoting it?

Don't believe coaches can recruit in person or evaluate in person now. So this thing was for tape and measurables.

Zero atmosphere, morgue. Nobody cares about the Yotes.

I am questioning why you wasted everyone's time posting that. Go back to BV and read about the stranglehold you have on ND recruiting.
