    I am torn on the whole "forward facing hawk on one side, rear facing on other" thing. Would need to see it on the helmet first.

    One example and just the latest. Many players bitched openly for last few years about the loss of the name, name selection process, name selection itself, and now logo selection. But they are all in for UND Athletics and want nothing but the best for the entire athletic department. Am I missing anything?

    You just don't get it. They have fought this entire process for years since the name/logo was dropped. Absolutely NO buy-in on the process from the hockey program, whatsoever, at any stage. But that is OK, right? Many of the other visible programs/players, like football, go out of their way to engage the fans and promote the move. Hockey does the opposite.

    One tweet? On this nickname issue, perhaps the most divisive one in school history, the Men's Hockey program offered the university absolutely no support and some members pretty much openly fought it or mocked it every step of the way. There is no denying that. That is the problem. They think they can do whatever they want and it is an internal issue over at Hyslop right now, I can tell you that for fact. What I cannot believe is some hockey fans keep supporting their continued 'non-support' of the university on this issue. Makes me wonder what yesterday would have gone like if Berry would have come out and given a speech anywhere near the one Bubba gave. Probably would have gone a long way to helping people buy in. Oh well....

    So hockey team can act however they want but the rest of the athletic department is supposed to embrace it? Its what they have been doing and its getting embarrassing. Where is Lazy Faison to straighten them out? He off for another month now?

    Objecting to a new logo for his own university is "standing for what is right?" What a warrior. He is coming off as an idiot if anything.

    1st Amendment....really? They are the only program that has openly fought the name change the entire way. Fought the process, fought the selection, made fun of any name options other than nothing. It's f'cking embarrassing that they aren't told to embrace the change as best they can, being they are receiving a roughly $70000 scholarship to play for that athletic department.

    Name one coach that has coached without at least a year left on his contract? They are doing it as a show of "faith" for recruiting purposes because it's what you have to do. You know they told him win big or else. Or at least you should cause you know a lot. If you want to know why it seems weird, look at who the AD is.

    In my own opinion, being he still hasn't gotten an extension (which is coming I believe), I would go as far as to say the budget cuts are what saved him from the ax this spring. They would have had to add budget for the new staff.

    The extension that is coming could just as well be termed "severance pay" if they don't have a great year. One year extension doesn't mean a damn thing other than UND will be out 100K if the BB doesn't do well.
