  1. Ok, thanks. I will have to try to locate and listen to a few of his interviews.
  2. I could live with that. EDIT: On second thought, I'm not so sure. There will still be people posting non-conference news in the specific sport forum. For example, I'm thinking people will still start threads on Big 10 hockey in the hockey forum. Maybe the subheading could read "Home of UND and NCHC Hockey or Home of UND and Big Sky football, instead of "discuss" UND and NCHC hockey....
  3. Yeah, the new line up seems fine. I do think it would be nice to see the conference names though, especially for opponent's fans who visit the site. Maybe Big Sky Football, Big Sky Basketball, NCHC Hockey, etc...No big deal though. This works too.
  4. Yes it did, but SUU wasn't a playoff team. It would be nice to have a real grass practice field but by no means is it necessary. Has anyone seen the information on phase one and phase to for the IPF? On WDAZ news at 6:00, they mentioned they were still a couple of million $$ away from have the money necessary to start phase one. Of course, it's WDAZ so I don't know how accurate that is.
  5. Except when preparing for a playoff game against a team whose stadium has real grass. Unless of course, you're assuming UND will always be the higher seed or have the winning bid for hosting playoff games.
  6. My guess is we see the all blacks tomorrow night. The Blackout will be a campaign to have all fans wear black...at least that's my guess.
  7. Sorry Darrell, but I'm going to have to agree with the bison fan on this one. If you don't want to compete with the "big boys", then why move up to DI? Will UND ever win a FBS or a NCAA Basketball title? Most likely not, at least not in my lifetime. But I'm ok with that. I like to see UND athletes competing at the highest level and hopefully being successful (ie winning conference championships, making national tournaments, and winning some tournament games as well as knocking off the "big boys" every now and then.) If you have sub divisions in every sport, you are essentially creating a new DII, DIAA, FCS, whatever you want to call it. Just realize, it wouldn't be DI. As it is now, UND is at the same level as the big schools other than football, and the excitement around UND athletics is as high as it's been in quite some time, and we have only just become playoff eligible. I would say it's even higher than when we were winning and competing for DII titles.
  8. Looks like they are leading in the third set, 12-8. Would be nice to see them win at least one of the sets... EDIT: Nice game by the ladies but fall in the 3rd set, 25-21. Hopefully they can bounce back against Texas State later today.
  9. Just out of curiosity, in your opinion, had UND not "stopped the rivlary" when it was no longer in their best interest to continue the game (see DII playoff eligibility rules), would NDSU still be playing UND today?
  10. According to Brian Murphy, the WAC isn't done yet. Here's a few of his tweets from a couple of hours ago: and... Here's a link to his twitter account... http://twitter.com/murphsturph
  11. Not sure if it was Jimmy or not. Someone else posted a few weeks ago that it was Kris Kuper who put up the money for the new uni's. Either way, they look good and thanks to whichever alumni ponied up the dough!
  12. It was reported that the BSC and the WAC had begun talking again last weekend. The talks didn't break off until a couple of days ago, so Hurd could have been on campus prior to the talks being broken off. At this point, it really is hard to know what to believe. Common sense would say that western schools would like to see the WAC survive, if for nothing else, it keeps an BB autobid in play. Another reason to think Western Shools would like to see it survive would be because it would be the "easiest" route for a school to go "FBS." Lose the WAC and the only Western FBS conferences are the PAC-1X and The MWC. Not alot of open spots in those two conferences. Although I don't believe the WAC will survive, there are viable reasons as to why it could/should. Until the four remaining WAC schools have signed on with another conference, anything is possible I guess.
  13. Count me in as sitting in section 215....four seats!
  14. Thanks for the info "bambinobliss." Very much looking forward to our first BSC opponent (even though it's not a conference game) for 2012! I expect PSU to be very strong this year. I'm hoping the homefield/Potato Bowl weekend will be enough of an advantage to get our guys the win in this game. It appears as though PSU has the same questions that UND has, the secondary. Perhaps this game will turn into quite the offensive shootout.
  15. The UNDSports website has a series of article that gives some insight into each of the football teams opponents this year. Here are the links to the PSU and SDSU game. Not alot of indepth info, but some insight to get you a bit of info on these teams... PSU: http://www.undsports.com/ViewArticle.dbml?SPSID=58640&SPID=6399&DB_LANG=C&DB_OEM_ID=13500&ATCLID=205459119 SDSU: http://www.undsports.com/ViewArticle.dbml?SPSID=58640&SPID=6399&DB_LANG=C&DB_OEM_ID=13500&ATCLID=205498566
  16. The Big Sky Preaseason Volleyball Poll has been released. UNC is ranked #1. UND picked up one first place vote in the poll and ranked 4th. Here is the link... http://www.bigskycon...0813121022.aspx The Sioux...er UND is only one point behind EWU for third place in the poll. It would be nice to see UND in the top three, but since they don't have a Senior on their roster this year and they are new to the BSC, fourth place isn't too bad of a spot to be placed. I do expect them to be battling it out for the conference championship and a trip to the tournament though.
  17. How many teams have Golf? Wouldn't that count as a team sport?
  18. Here is a quote from "Siouxfan", most likely Star2city, that was posted on the WAC message board a few weeks ago. Last edited 7/24/2
  19. Here is a link to the Idaho Statesmen article. It appears as though talks are revolving around the Olympic sports. http://www.idahostat...e-decision.html
  20. According this this recent tweet, it appears the WAC and BSC are back in discussions about some sort of alliance. The writer is supposed to have more info in tomorrows Idaho Statesmen.
  21. I always thought the original restaurant was in West Fargo? Am I wrong on that? EDIT: Never mind, after a little digging, I did find that the original did open in downtown Fargo.
  22. Looks like UM got there transfer...from Stanford. Granted he was Freshman walkon, but still an FBS transfer. http://missoulian.com/sports/college/montana/football/source-stanford-qb-brzeczek-headed-to-griz/article_ef1e20ca-dd14-11e1-b12f-0019bb2963f4.html
  23. This would be one reason...people tend to say Calvary instead of Cavalry.
  24. I guess I'm not making my self clear enough. Do I want UND to be the best team in the BSC, of course I do. I just found it a bit premature to say that UND is becoming the team to beat in the BSC because a coach tweeted that he was excited about a new recruit. I want to see UND compete for the BSC championship on a regular basis before we consider ourselves to be the team to beat. In otherwords, lets prove it on the field.
