This thread is why UND athletics will struggle to be a premier mid-major program in all sports. We argue over the nickname, we argue of REA agreements, argue will fans of our own university over which sport is getting screwed over. We need a unified fanbase, mission, staff, and donors. Otherwise UND will only remain as a hockey school with occasional flash in the pan success in other sports. Happy to win an occasional Summit Championship or just happy to beat 2 of the 3 dakota schools every year. We as fans and athletic department should strive to be one of the top non FBS athletic programs in the nation (or better then lower level FBS schools).

Great addition. However I agree that a lack of Fighting Hawks logos is terrible. How can UND progress in athletics if we cant even agree to the nickname.

In Forums defense, none of the BSU mens games were broadcasted on tv. FSN instead aired the T wolves who were also on ESPN

TL:DR but this has to be the lowest point of UND athletics. Zero teams are having successful seasons. At least in past years there was always one ot two teams being marginally successful, but not this year (except soccer having better then expected?). If there is a repeat next year, certainly time to completely reevaluate athletics.

Agree 100%, amazing how much the new management has done in such a short amount of time. Seem to make the Alerus Center a true community facility. I contrast, here in Bemidji the Sanford Center is hemorrhaging money and keep hoping they move to Spectra instead of Venuworks.

I kinda wanna put the 2018 MS Valley State Game in this category. We won, but it was ugly in front of a near capacity crowd. Should have blown that team out of the water by 45 points

No more let down games in front of large home crowds (If the situation occurs). They are such momentum killers from a community standpoint.

A southern route should have been built so many years ago when there was less "stuff" to destroy during construction. Now the city is left with no perfect option because the can was kicked too long down the road but it needs to be done or GF's growth will be limited. Demers/42nd Ave Intersection also needs something done before 42nd Ave really starts to boom. However, now it would be almost impossible with the entire area surrounded by developed properties. Sometimes I think people are too nearsighted or afraid to make tough decisions.

The no sale of Ray Richards will no doubt put this project back a little bit. Sad, a very vocal minority (or those who have no idea what's happening) is preventing big picture stuff from happening. I'm sure the details of the Ray Richard's family agreement could have been worked out for both parties and the land sold

This is just me guessing but Marketplace Foods out of Bemidji might be a strong contender. They have grocery stores in Bemidji and Minot, so certainly on the distribution route. However, their private brand is same as Hugos, not sure that is a factor. Maybe Leevers, but they focus on smaller communities. So is Hugos back to being the official UND Sponsor? Although, you couldn't really tell much on the Hornbacher sponsorship.
