  1. Changing management companies was such a great idea.
  2. Was Idaho required to drop scholarships this year or they grand fathered in until current scholarship players graduate?
  3. I understand what you are saying. The hockey team or hockey related news seems to get written at least once a week during the offseason. Football has maybe 3 to 4 a week, despite it being in season at the moment.
  4. That blog post certainly makes me more ready for the season. I know every team hypes themselves up before the first game but it seems like we could certainly surprise some teams this year.
  5. I'm still bitter about that debacle. Should really get over my grudge.
  6. UW-EC is building a new 6,000 seat arena to replace their current 1,100seat arena and 2,500 seat arena. They have received a $10 million dollar donation to the construction but having a hard time finding additional funds. A proposal to move to D1 hockey might move the meter . Blugolds also have a pretty strong fan base and decent metro area to pull from. Certainly a larger city and campus then Bemidji and Mankato.
  7. I've been watching Last Season U on Netflix and research Independence Community College. Former Red River and Mayville State player Justin Hafner is starting his first year as position coach. http://www.indypirates.com/sports/fball/coaches/Justin_Hafner?view=bio
  8. What do you feel are the swing games?
  9. I really doubt Nashville is possible anytime soon. They just built a minor league stadium that can't be expanded. I grew up I the area and it is also mostly Braves country as to the traditional fanbase. My bet would be Charlotte before Nashville.
  10. I read the paper at work and most days, there is zero substance. Seems there has to be enough happening in the Red River Valley to fill a decent paper, but it comes down to having reporters to get these stories. Sadly, reporters cost money that GFH cant sustain.
  11. When did the GFH notice we had a football team?
  12. This is a great opening game. Best case, the place is sold out thanks to the Valley Dairy deal, we blow out MSVS, not injured, and the casual fan becomes excited not knowing how terrible of a team we beat. However, flip side we lose and basically have zero support or hype for rest if the season
  13. We dont win by at least 21 points, I'll be worried about the season.
  14. Hornbachers uses Instacart for their delivery. Not sure if related.
  15. Alabama? They have a college football team? Seems a Bama walk on is likely good enough to start at a FCS school
  16. So Hornbachers is now the "official grocery store" of UND athletics. Wonder how this will affect Potato Bowl activities?
  17. Holy that is impressive! Certainly better facilities than a few FBS schools.
  18. Ya I'm a UND alum and Grand Forks resident and had no problem with Kennedy applying at UCF. Who would not jump at the chance to double their salary? If he would have applied for anything less then President at a UCF type of school, then I would have raised an eyebrow. I feel Kennedy is doing the right thing. Campus is looking smaller, but that is a lot of opportunity for the future. Glad to see Ray Richard's is finally being handled, sorta. Also like his university village vision. Always felt there was a disconnect between the university and surrounding neighborhood. There is a lack of college related stuff around campus. No coffee shops, no grocery stores, no restaurants besides the red pepper. Nothing that screams "university area" besides the actual university. Go to Madison or UofM Twin Cities or even NDSU and how the neighborhood and university is linked together.
  19. Gotta find those 5* recruits that want to to pilots
  20. It seems basketball has decent facilities to attract recruits and win battles against peer schools and the occasional P5 drop down. Question is why are we so far behind in getting and keeping 3* recruits.
  21. Huh, no mention of baseball being cut and mens golf on life support.
  22. Schedule two biggest events (tater & HoCo) at same tme check
  23. I heard it includes womens hockey funds since it's the 2nd most popular sport played at the hockey arena
  24. I think the EAS contract in Devils Lake is why Grand Forks to Denver flights have failed a couple of times.
