and here's a graph showing how much more money North Dakota had vs ten years ago. Yet nobody wanted to save enough for Baseball or Mens Golf at UND in the ten years when the North Dakota general fund went from $2.3 billion to $7.3 Billion. This biennium is a historic high for the most amount of money North Dakota has ever had. Maybe they should have saved a little more and spent a little less...(so historic high revenue by the state of North Dakota....which means Mens Golf, Baseball, jobs, Studio One, Music Therapy, etc at UND is actually just money that is being transferred and spend elsewhere in North Dakota .)

Why do they have to save Studio One from being suspended? Where is all this money been going?! One low tide comes in and all of a sudden the university has to change drastically.

Brad on twitter claimed the championship insert into the Herald won't be til May 1. That's a long time to wait.

Big news coming out of NDSU, the AD declared they won't be cutting any sports because they are already at the minimum for both men and women.

Times sure are different than when UND last won a National Championship. New hockey arena, High Definition Televisions, Youtube, SiouxSports.com, Smartphones, Tablets. Self Driving Cars. It's been a long time coming.

If UND could drop off non revenue sports they would. If the could drop most women's sports at UND they would. It's not like they drew golf and baseball out of a hat.

Now that UND won #8, people claim the "hockey gods" will make us go into a "UMD type" slump now. Its only one or the other.

If UND had a "Redhawks" style stadium on campus, preferably nicer weather in the spring, the university promoted it and more people went, UND was winning a bunch of games, ....UND wouldnt' be in this situation. People in GF barely know UND has a baseball team. Nobody goes, nobody talks about it.

Wasn't comparing Baseball vs Hockey nationally. I was comparing UND baseball vs UND womens hockey. Big Difference. UND women playing for a national championship on CBS will get the UND name out there than those who are die hard sports fans who watch ESPN constantly (and are bombarded with every athletic teams name constantly). "More positives" are much more than people watching on TV. It's also about giving the students at UND what they want ("promotions" aside), students want to watch womens hockey more than UND baseball. More people seemed at UND to care about having those three players than anything baseball related and that's what matters most. UND womens hockey has much more upside than UND baseball in Grand Forks, North Dakota.

Womens National Hockey Championship was on CBS (the uno). Taped of course, but no one knew that. Still cool to see. I believe Easter Sunday morning so they got pretty dang good ratings IIRC. It's hard to deny there is a lot more positives for womens hockey than baseball at UND.

His base is $280,000. Grows to $406,000 if all incentives are met. I'm sure he got close to it. Probably only missed the Frozen Faceoff wins incentives, which would be minor compared to the National Championship.

Idk, I was just helping prove your point. Not only at the time did they increase the womens scholarships (hockey) but decreased mens (cut wrestling). As UNDBIZ pointed out, the lady on facebook proudly claims they were going to sue the school. Need to try that prong thingy NDSU uses.

And have more scholarships with mens wrestling.

....was there any possible way to avoid it or "lessen the blow"?
