    Interesting observation over the past couple days: KFGO mentioned UND in the Frozen Four twice in two hours this morning ... and ... mentioned the verbal by the recruit (Tychonick). They'd mentioned the goalie recruit (Karki) last week on Friday(?). I hadn't heard anything about a UND recruit on that station in probably two years. Now, suddenly, KFGO is college hockey aficionado central? What chang .... nevermind.

    Before the Big Ten Network moved them, FSN had room for U of M Gopher sports along with what you mention (two pro teams).

    Can I vote about how KFGO should fill their evening programming? I'd love it if KFGO followed either KFYR or 640Toronto: - KFYR runs "Ground Zero with Clyde Lewis" from 9 to midnight on weeknights followed by "Coast to Coast AM" - CFMJ (640 Toronto) runs the previous day's full four hours of "Coast to Coast AM" from 8 to midnight (Central) and then runs the live show after that. CFMJ also runs classic (Art Bell) "Coast to Coast" on weekends. Yes, I am an iHeartRadio user. Why do you ask?

    Thinking out loud here ... KFGO has actually slid in the ratings lately (previous link). I guess not "slid" as much as there's someone catching them. They used to have double the Arbitron number of the next closest. Now The Fox is really close. I'm not sure what the root cause is for KFGO: demographics, format, or programming. It'd be interesting to know how hard "the KFGO family of stations" fought to keep NDSU. They could've easily rebranded 740 The Fan to be "The Bison", yet that's not happening.

    The 1660 AM signal is, in a word, "turrible". Putting NDSU FB on an FM (107.9) will range-limit that signal much more as they get a lot of area coverage out of 790 AM's signal. They'd better not lose 600 AM out of Jamestown as an affiliate (that's the second biggest night footprint in the state). What I do see NDSU getting out of this is what I've accused KFGO, and WDAY before that, of being: all Bison all the time. However, look where 1660 AM was in the last Arbitron book. (Look down, further, further, further .... )

    Annual home games with Minnesota and Wisconsin? Think: premium pricing. Like I say to certain other fans in another forum, "How things are today is how they'll always be." Right?

    The B1G deputy commish said Notre Dame was getting nothing for revenue because they had their own TV deal. Makes sense. Notre Dame broadcasts their home games under their TV deal (NBCSN) and the rest of the B1G stay with their existing TV deal (BTN). I still say if (and that's a BIG IF) the B1G came to call they'd treat UND the same way: you get nothing, but you control TV for your home games. I wonder if that scenario would get FCS (Fox Sports North) interest. I'd say UND would be very wise to hold onto (call it a deal-breaker) one other thing: Ensure that games are always Fri/Sat at home.

    I figured LaDue gone when he started Senior Night as the only defenseman with four senior forwards. The only thing I could see that may keep Stetcher at UND is what LaDue has and Stecher doesn't: 4 extra inches of height.

    Until I see the movie "11" based on Phil Jackson I guess "61*" says what needs to be said. Then again, maybe Phil's movie should be called "13" to be more accurate.

    I remember all the hype about that flop Tom Brady coming into the NFL, and then that greatest all-time QB Ryan Leaf got nothing, no hype, coming out of college.

    Mentioning on air "talent", who were those buffoons for the UND game last night? The play by play guy had "UMass" playing "Lowell" in OT last night. And it seemed like he'd maybe done three hockey games before this weekend. The color guy? He sounded like he was 10 years old and had just gotten his maize and blue t-shirt and official membership card to the Junior Woofies club. He only acknowledged UND was in the game, much less dominating large chunks, after UND went up late.

    And it's already announced that Bucci and Melrose will be the on-air talent in Tampa. I may need to buy the economy pack of Clorox wipes for all the BC spoogin' they'll be doing all over my television.
