I give you that. The NCAA is just looking at outcome. They don't care how it got there, just that it was.

Is that why they said this Newman fellow is "reimbursed" but stopped short of saying they are on the payroll? But if Newman is an independent contractor, isn't he being compensated by NDSU (but not officially on staff and payroll). Or is he volunteering.

Yes I do. You were shading "stimulants" as better than "steroids". In the NCAA's shades both are black on a black/white scale. And your beef's not with me. It's in Indianapolis. Their scale.

I enjoy the "explaining" and how it's done at the Y. The NCAA ain't the Y. And how it's lesser because it's not the worst intentional thing that could've been done. Getting caught sucks.

You just stated that an unapproved agent was used intentionally to gain an advantage. <-- What does one call that? No nuance there, no 'pre workout' qualifiers, no "stimulant v. anabolic", according to the NCAA. And they get to decide, not you or I. Next, just because you see it at the Y? C'mon, that is precisely the "everybody does it" defense. These staff and players know they're at a whole different standard (the NCAA). They failed and got caught. Own it.

Forgive me, but I'm going back to this one more time: Is this common at the FCS level? It can't be cheap. And why do they self-test? To me you test for things you know might happen. My house has smoke detectors; they test the for smoke and let me know. (Hold your comments on my cooking.) My house has a carbon monoxide detector. Why? Because I know my house can produce CO (furnace, fireplace) and I want to know before it does harm. I test for things that might happen. I don't have a U-235 detector (Geiger counter) in my house. There'll never be U-235 in my house as it's illegal for a private citizen to possess; it's never going to be there. Why would I test for it. So if NDSU knows to follow the rules, why do they test for things that by policy (theirs and NCAA), won't be there? The only other reason you test for something? The ugly answer is you know your are doing something and need to make sure you are staying undetectable.
