Would you rather the headline read:
X suspended, got substance from roommate
or X suspended, got substance from trusted staff member
I'd prefer neither, but, if forced to choose I'll take the first long before the second.
Because he's a taxpayer and the State of ND could end up on the hook for liabilities (costs) incurred by NDSU if say Mr. Robbins (et al) were to retain council and claim damages ...
Mentioning the State, there's an open records law in this State. Now I'm pretty sure names would have to be blotted out (think: HIPAA), but wouldn't any testing of players contracted out by NDSU to a third-party be fair game for an open records request? It would be intriguing to see what NDSU's testing contractor finds during their evaluations. And this could provide some insight to Barn's question about NDSU having suspended their own for self-test results. We couldn't be sure (no names per HIPAA) but if there were X failed tests one would expect commensurate press reports about "violation of team rules" suspensions and such.
The one that bothered me the most: Rudolph would run RB wheel routes with Olivera and not Santiago. Yes, Brady can catch, but, in that scenario you normally get LB coverage and LB v Olivera is more even than LB v Santiago. LB v Santiago is 99.5% of the time in John's favor.
I would think your question should end with the word "today".
Then I'd think "tick tock" ... and they've put themselves in jeopardy for NCAA sanction and should step back from it.
I'd think they've put themselves in jeopardy for NCAA sanction and should step back from it.
You missed my question: What do you make of Newman easily being associated with NDSU, Alabama, and Clemson, all teams that have become curiously much greater than their competition. Pure coincidence? Greatest motivational speaker since Christ on the Mount? Maybe some other factor his presence provides?
