Birmingham commits $90 million for stadium.  Jefferson County, the BJCC authority, UAB, and corporate interests will fund the rest.

Never trust a Fargo or Sioux Falls journalist, as they spout what the XDSU’s want everyone to hear, not the truth.  Chapman was a master of this deception, and it continued with Bresciani.  The story was always how NDSU barely got in when the MVFC went to nine, because the eastern MVFC teams didn’t want to pay for a flight and SDSU insisted upon it or they wouldn’t join either.  Well, guess what, with only seven conference games then, many MVFC schools had to fly anyway to fill out their schedule regardless if NDSU was out or in.

But now, lo and behold, there isnt any anger or angst coming from the MVFC when UND got in.  Imagine that?  Fargo sportswriters were just part of an NDSU propaganda machine designed to keep UND (and USD) out.  SDSU relented earlier because it knew if the Big Sky got USD, the Summit would have fallen apart.  NDSU didn’t want UND to have any sort of recruiting angle or play ND games, because they wanted to own ND football and had a morbid fear of UND.

The NDBoHE doesn’t want people to know how NDSU leadership deceived even them, so they keep a lid on the story by not revealing it.

So much BS it's funny.  I thought that both of the FB coaches since DI have stated that the BSC was a recruiting plus.

Congratulation!  Your declaration of BS almost always proves that statement is true.

After Loftsgaard, all the NDSU Presidents have been conniving thieves, but somehow they are revered for their cleverness and cunning ways among bison faithful.

Richard Hanson seemed a good guy. I wonder how hard Gov. Doug is working to save the rivalry from becoming what it was. Will it ever be the same? Don't think Dan is to excited about the yearly game. If SU moves up all you can do Is  wish the athletes good luck.

Gene Taylor was there and he always had a thing to stick it to UND.  Hanson probably was not even aware of the conference shanigans unless he went to an MVFC meeting.  Schafer probably asked around to other Presidents and went to the SBoHE with info that they didn’t want to hear.  In other states they guard against conference politics by requiring board approval because it is so common among state schools one blackballs the other.

Don't you think you are giving the XDSU's too much credit?  By saying what you are saying you are conceding that NDSU wields the big stick in your state and that they are Big Bro and you are Little Bro following them around.

USD played the game right when all that went down.  We knew what kind of power we wielded and we were in a position to leverage and get what we wanted.  UND jumped the gun by a day, but maybe the BSC is exactly what your administration wanted.

In hindsight I wished we had collaborated more and swung all 4 Dakota schools in one direction or the other from the beginning.  I think now it would have been better for all 4 of us to go to the BSC.  Then when Idaho moved back into the conference we would have had an inside position to form a BSC split with the state universities forming their own conference with the Dakotas, Idahos, and Montanas forming the core of the conference.

The NDBoHE was incredibly gullible as were its citizens.  No one would have believed that a esteemed President of a U, like Chapman, would be such a thief and con-man.   He should have had charges filed against him.  The politics were not D2 level anymore, which somehow the state expected.

UND was apprehensive about DI because there were questions about would the Ralph sellouts continue.  Any person with a business background would recognize the truth in that statement.

Tartleton St is moving up to the WAC or Southland.  Think the WAC mention is just a smokescreen for yet unnamed Southland members moving to the WAC and FBS.

https://tarleton.edu/division1/documents/collegiate-consulting-division-i-fcs-benchmarking-study-march-2018.pdf

That document details the travel distances for the Southland vs Lone Star but doesn’t even mention travel in the WAC, which would not be a bus league.

When you read on 'Gopherhole', don't seriously take the stuff in purple print as truth !!!

Except for the comments where they say "Motzko will never win the big games"?

An interesting article on Illinois’s hockey arena, possible program:

Same reason they have already given multimillions of dollars to other universities around the region?

It's one thing giving $10-20 million to stick your name on a building of a flagship state university, it is something else to give a small private school $100 million to move up a division.
