Ex-Bismarck High player Jamie Sigl has transferred from UMD to UND: link

Bismarck native Jamie Sigl has always dreamed about playing football for the University of North Dakota.

But when Sigl graduated from Bismarck in 2006, he wanted to try something different, so he enrolled at Minnesota-Duluth.

Sigl made his childhood dream a reality when he transferred to UND at semester break.

"UNDis a special place to play," said Sigl, a social studies and physical education major. "It's something you can't explain."

Sigl was the North Dakota AAA player of the year his senior year.

New Commit....

Mitch Sutton

Spash HS, Stevens Point-Wisconsin

6'0" 200# Running Back

Gatorade Player of the Year

2 x All State selections

Excellent! I was really hoping we'd get one of the two very talented Wisconsin backs considering UND (Ewing being the other). Sutton led the state of Wisconsin in rushing, and as mentioned in Walrus's post he was the WI Gatorade POY. Last spring, wissports.net rated him as the 19th-best senior-to-be in the state. I wouldn't be at all surprised if he'd now be ranked higher than that among WI seniors after the amazing season he had.

Chris Mussman is on the coaches' show right now. A few things:

-all commitments are still solid;

-since Lennon resigned, there have been three more verbal commitments;

-he's working on Dale Lennon to make a big donation to UND with his fat new contract. ;)

Good news on the recruits and thanks for the link on the Wisconsin verbals.

Sioux get another verbal commitment from 6'5" 315lb offensive lineman Ian Rosario out of Alaska. Had an official visit to the University of Washington and they offered him a walk-on. I believe Washington State was going to ask him to do the same. Big pickup for the Sioux.

Another Chris Kuper perhaps?? ;)

I watched a couple of tapes on Rosario on-line. It is really difficult to determine is mobility, etc. but he looked pretty darn good. He definitely is big (a couple of sites had him listed at 6'6", 328) - probably could stand to lose a few pounds.

Per various sites, it appears that Boise State, Notre Dame, Oregon State and Washington all took a very close look at him so he must have more than just great size!

Hawai'i and Alaska have a common problem: Distance.

However, they are markedly different in one key area:

Caller: "Yeah, we have an open date in our football schedule the first Saturday in December."

Possible Road Team: "Who is this calling again?"

(this is where the scenario splits)

Scenario 1 ---

Caller: "The University of Hawai'i

Possible Road Team: ;)

Scenario 2 ---

Caller: "The University of Alaska.

Possible Road Team: Fairbanks? In December? .... (dial tone)
