farce poobah
Johnny!!!! with a shot at ANOTHER Gold Medal tomorrow. Today, in the semifinal, he gets the eventual game-winning goal. Nice pic on the iihf website along with the article. http://www.ihwc.net/english/article/recaps...&artId=2677 A little more than a minute later, Jonathan Toews made it 2-0 with a great goal. Jordan Staal had the puck behind the net and slipped it to Toews at the side. He barged his way in front and while falling and being checked he slid the puck to the far side. [stops to pinch self "nope, I'm awake"] A 19-year-old player at the University of North Dakota got the game winning goal in the World Championship semifinal. I think he should make a career of playing full time for Canada ... talk about your national heroes.

nodak hockey fanatic
Coach Murray's quote at the end of the clip is priceless... "Sweden had played very well this tournament, they just hadn't played Canada yet."
UNDLAW
Video doesn't work for me. Just have to wait for it to load depending on the speed of your ISP. It will load eventually (mine took about 45 seconds even with DSL).
Sioux_Hab-it
Canada defeats Finland 4-2 to win the Gold and Commodore seemed more excited than Toews. I guess winning Gold has become too routine for Jonathan as despite Canada's hockey history he is the first Canadian player ever to win Junior and Men's Gold in the same year. JoeMorelli
Doan comments on JT after the game: http://broadband.tsn.ca/tsn/?vid=7658 "He's such an incredible talent. He's gonna be...he is an incredible player and he's gonna be such a great player. Chicago is so lucky to have someone like him and, you know, in Phoenix, we're jealous of that type of guy." farce poobah
Has Toews ever not won gold when playing for Canada? Has he even lost a game while playing for Canada? Basically, Toews with a Maple Leaf is unbeatable. Congratulations to Mike Commodore and Jonathan Toews, and to our Neighbours to the North. A good day indeed, eh. Are we looking at another possible alcohol violation for Toews, or did they not allow him into the locker room after the game?

He just won a men's championship so he was right in there with the the team enjoying the bubbly and there isn't a thing Chief Wiggum and his boys can do about it. Vegas
Has Toews ever not won gold when playing for Canada? Has he even lost a game while playing for Canada? I believe he is batting 5 for 5. Under 17's, Under 18's, 2 - Under 20's and now a World Championship with the Seniors. Has he lost a game? I can think of one. Team Western lost to the U.S. in a meaningless round robin game after they had clinched 1st place in their pool. I can't think of another game beyond that one.
