yeah they deleted it LOL. They must have found it was something on their end that was the issue after the fact.

Or that ESPN saw it, flexed and said to Midco....

3 quarter was 2 and 3rd on defense and 4th was 4th and freshman on defense. Offense second half was a mix other then the oline mostly second and third string.

I am betting that there were a lot of 3rd string and lower players on the field during the second half. There is no way our depth is worse in Schmidt's second year. I think Schmidt is prioritizing development over blowouts and I think that is a good thing.

Anyone else at the game love the new train horn sound the band is doing  they need to do that until about 10 seconds left on the play clock. The Voodoo Center is back better then ever.

My complaints for the game:

Turned in for parking an hour before game, Paid $15.00 by credit card, got 30 feet and a parking attendant told us to turn around, no spaces left.  Told to go across the street and park in grass lot by hotel on honor system.  No signs/directions for parking, no attendants that I saw, so picked a spot by hotel.  After game, came out and lost access to lot via hotel parking since pickup with trailer blocked access. May have been my bad on that one, but the topper was had to exit field adjacent to fireworks show, with no idea where to exit onto road.  That's almost comical.

Sound System/band playing/announcer were all out of sync, playing over or interupting each other:  no coordination.  Worst thing was the announcer/canned music was playing over refs calls;  I only heard the refs in the 2nd half.

Into started ok for team coming in, not sure of song (not a music guy), but didn't seem to have too much bling too it.  all the fun seemed to drain away after the intro.  Also, seemed too loud to me and my group, but I'm in my sixties, what do I know.

field goals/extra points - we are in the hurt bag;  nuff said

good things:  Jerry's the real deal;  defense looked good first half, Boll and Applegate seemed ready as linebacker, new receiver from Florida Goodloe was a stud (where's Deng Deng, only had a few catches?); offensive line looked solid.

Let me know who you guys noticed in a good/bad way.

Head scratcher on how the Alerus production staff can be so insept, especially the sound person not knowing when to play, volume levels. Also the graphics on the big screen of the players had several errors on them - an example of sloppiness and lack of quality ( I would bet thas was closed up and noone will follow up on that and we will see the same errors next week). Easy to assume they had some new people up there that were poorly trained.

UND Hoops had a player who transferred this year get $50k to be on the bench his whole career.

JTJ is an athlete that can make explosive plays with his speed. Danny has way more to work with this year with dynamic players than his last time he was here.

Has anyone credibly confirmed JTJ got $50,000, I've seen just as many denials and no confirmations.

Yes! As long as the coach is a good guy we should all be able to look over the mistakes. We value good guys at UND, doing your job comes 2nd!

Sorry - I missed your meaning

Game 1 left me with two giant concerns, which clearly is shared with everyone. Kicking and Backup QB. Both were incredibly disappointing to watch.

I don't remember a game where they pulled the 1's as soon as they did. Which I loved. My question would be was the % breakdown between 2's, 3's, 4's in the second half? Especially defensively. Not overly concerned with it.

Two non-returning starters that really deserve to be pointed out. Ethan Boll and Brody Thornton. They were good. Thornton will be an All-American.

Would love to see what Sulik and Hendrickson can do.  Maybe next week or the week after.

Did they delete the tweet that said everything was good on their end and it's not their fault/problem that ESPN+ didn't work?  I didn't imagine seeing that last night did I?

This would suggest that Schmidt's recruits are better than the backups who were recruited by the previous regime (14 points given up in the 3rd vs. 7 points given up in the 4th).

By that logic why aren't Schmidt's recruits the main backups?

If the backups don't start performing better, that very well might happen.

Cause most of his recruits are freshman and sophomores. The team will be fine your not typically playing a 11 second string guys in a game at the same time.

You are correct. But I think it's beneficial for the second stringers to know that they can lose their positions if they don't perform better when they get playing time.

Very concerned Schmitt's teams don't play a full 60 minutes.  Cost us at the end a bunch of times last year.  Either lost the lead at the end or after a great 1st half let up in the 2nd half.  Championship teams can't let that happen.

UND was up 42-0 at halftime and could’ve scored 100 if they wanted to. They called game at halftime and went out without any injuries.

How some of you can complain about pure domination is beyond me. The second half was purely a scrimmage for the 2nd and 3rd stringers against LIU starters.

UND dominated. They’ll win the conference. Enjoy the ride. Show up to the f***ing games and cheer, stop complaining.

Yeah, but it’s not worth winning. If you can’t win Big plus when the committee looks at style points at there and they say we didn’t cover that could be a problem.

Win the valley and the style points dont matter.
