Denver just inserts the next sensational NCAA tournament goaltending performance...

They'd have the tripod if not for Western last year.

Regional in Loveland next year, see them in DC.

Western Michigan with the "Triple Crown" is just fitting for them last year

If UND would have got to the middle they could have been in this game and could have beat Denver.

To be fair. Denver beat Michigan. Not sure if UND beats Michigan.

Nattys >>>>> Penrose

Feels like North Dakota still cares too much about the Penrose while Denver doesn't care about it at all. Denver sets themselves up better for tournament runs to the Frozen Four and National Championship

I missed the game. How did Wisconsin play overall? How did Denver play overall?

Once Denver scored you could feel they would take the lead.

Good the best players will keep coming to test themselves against the best

Denver doesn't have the best pure talent players. They have the "best fit" players, most of whom aren't elite enough to be ready to sign pro as freshmen or sophomores, so they keep their guys longer. They've balanced their roster with Western Canadians, Minnesota, Californians, Illinoisans, Europeans, etc, not beholden to only recruiting one area. They just do it better than everyone else. Annoying as f*** but you tip your cap to em

Denver finished second. Not like they didn’t try. They won 2 out of the 3 for hardware.

Pohlkamp is a great example of Denver finding talent in unexpected places.   Drafted late 5th round, went to Bemidji State as a freshman where he was a whopping +4.

But Carle/staff saw something that others didn't.

And I heard we went after him too but he chose Denver.

Yeah it was down to DU and UND.
Wonder how things change the last two years if Pohlkamp is in green.

Huh? Berry & Co. went after Pohlkamp. He even visited UND but ultimately chose Denver.

Pohlkamp put up 51 PTS in 59 GP in the USHL as an 18 year old and 24 PTS in 32 GP at Bemidji State as a 19 year old freshman. He always had the talent, but IIRC, people said he was out of elite hockey shape in HS and his 17 year old DY with Cedar Rapids.

I heard direct from a player that it was because of Berry why he went to Denver
