Some people are just gifted with an innate talent & whatever they touch turns to gold. You can see it in his demeanor, barely cracked a smile post-game, like he expected to win...sure he's a sharp hockey mind, but his teams are unbelievably lucky year after year, getting most of the bounces; usually gets favorable officiating; turns pedestrian goalies & 5th-7th rounders into national champions -- which leads me to conclude that he is destined for greatness, because there certainly isn't any earthy explanation for his freakish ability to consistently win against all odds. And to think that if DU beats WMU in ot last year, he very well could be sitting at 4 titles in 8 years.

Anytime a small private school in the NCHC can derail two teams from the Big 10 Money Conference is a good day for the integrity of college hockey. Carle is helping to keep the NCHC the gold standard of college hockey. Now it's time for Jackson to do likewise next season & beyond.

Small margins between being Dave Hakstol and David Carle. Hell, Jerry York at Boston College was Dave Hakstol before he turned into his generation's David Carle.

 

I think the goaltending goes back further than that too. 

2004:  Adam Berkhoel ends Dean Blais and Parise's stints at UND with a 1-0 shutout, and then he's the MOP of the Frozen four with another 1-0 shutout of Maine.

2005:  Peter Mannino takes his turn as Frozen four MOP with a brilliant title game performance over UND.

2017:  Tanner Jailletts turn to shine as Denver gets outshot by Duluth and he makes 38 saves in a 3-2 win. 

2022:  Magnus Chrona great in net as Denver gets outshot by Mankato yet hangs around....goes off in the 3rd.

Crazy to note that they have been outshot in all their national championship games this century.  Four of the six MOP of the Frozen Four have been goaltenders, and it should've been Jaillet in 2017.

All credit in the world to them, but thats unheard of goaltending.  Then you look at what these guys do in their post college hockey stints and they never find that lightning in a bottle again.

Great Frozen Four, the 4 blue bloods did not disappoint.  If that was played again next weekend I think we'd see a different winner, and maybe a different winner 3 weekends in a row.  Wisconsin showed up, gotta give Hastings credit there, they left it all on the table.  

Vegas looked awesome.  Can't imagine winning a natty as a player and being in Sin City, I hope Denver got to spend the night and rip it up.

I was sitting in a hotel waiting for a show to start (Penn and Teller) and in walks the entire DU team, carrying the trophy. Ya, they looked pretty happy. I'm not gonna lie - kinda hard to watch. Very envious. Hopefully we can feel that joy in the next few years.
