  18. Augustana (forgot about them)
  19. Michigan (don't play them enough to be a rival)
  20. Omaha

5-6 are the new rivals

7-11 are all about the same

Omaha is always last

Doesn't Omaha consider UND their biggest rival?

Duluth injuring a UND player as often as they do puts them in the top 3 for me

I remember when a UMD player literally ran into our goalie during the NCHC tournament. It was one of the most blatant cheap shots I've ever seen.

That game was what really made me realize how dirty they'd started to become. It's like they want their team identity to be embellishment and cheap shotting

Here’s my rankings:

S Tier

1. Gophers

A Tier

2. Pioneers

3. Bulldogs

B Tier (IE teams that we are sort of rivals but mainly in the minds of the other team)

4. SCSU

C Tier (IE: Rivalry that is only really viewed as a rivalry in the mind of the other team)

5. UNO

D Tier (IE: Arizona State)

6. Arizona State

I will say that with the rise of WMU, it possible after this year they make nexts years rankings.

They ended our season last year, hope to return the favor soon. I know we ended their season at the X in 2012. We also beat them in the 3rd place game in 2014 and then got into the tournament. Any others? @ubish

I guess its Minnesota, but I can't name more than like 6 guys on their team this year.  Ohh look, swept by a football school this weekend.

Was fun watching them lose in the Fargo regional to UMASS, but not Holy Cross fun.

1. Minnesota

2. Duluth-Bruce Ciskie and the last name Pionk go a long way here.

3. Denver

4. SCSU-I mean how much longer before they shut the doors to the university though?

5. Omaha-Earned by Stu, and lady that acts like UND shot her dog each time they play.

1.  Minnesota - have friends and family on both sides of this one, so everything cuts a little deeper.
2. Denver - too many big games against them to not be #2.
3.  Duluth - rivalry has been elevated since their first Natty. Throw A few big games in there and they’re easily number 3 now, but maybe not historically.
4. Wisconsin - mostly stemming from the early ‘80s (a time I was too young to remember) but for me I don’t actively cheer against them; in fact quite the opposite. It’s good for college hockey when the Badgers are relevant.

5.  St. Cloud State - not as easy to explain as the others, but their attitude towards UND and its fans just seems off-putting.

6.  Any of the remaining “blue bloods” - Boston college, Boston university, Michigan

I would consider switching the order of 4, 5, and 6.

UMD gives off little brother energy way too much. Whiny play by play guys. Players that dive and cheap shot others. Fans that talk a lot of !@#$.

They need to start acting like they've been there before.

For all those reasons, keep Denver ahead of UMD.

Full Disclosure, I used to work at UND (hence my username) and one of my coworkers asked one of the coaches on who they wanted to see win the Natty when it was UMD vs DU in Chicago, and they said they’d rather see UMD win. So I feel like at least back in 2017 that was who the coaches viewed as a higher tier rival.
