Good to get a win when you don’t play well. Especially the first period we had some guys really fighting the puck. About mid 2nd really started to turn things up a bit and had some great chances but couldn’t convert and then the big one from Strathman late kinda carried us into the 3rd. Spunar didn’t look particularly sharp tonight either but made a save in a key spot or two.

Hats off to Arizona.  They really gave UND fits along the way.

That might have been the fastest I've seen a UND team play in years.

I agree. Wasn’t just James, as per usual. Ollie, Zellers, Liver, Emery, and Menghini were flying.

I thought the same.  Arizona seemed to be happy playing an up tempo style and at times it was working for them.  The style of play seemed to really bait Nodak into some mistakes but in the end the depth and talent of Nodak won out.

James 1-2-3
Verhoeff 1-2-3
Strinden 1-1-2
Rickwood 2a
And huge goals from Strathmann to bring it close and Zellers to tie.

Huge comeback win for this group.

When is the last time Swanson had a great night? He's not even playing badly, just a very meh guy out there

Thought he had a real nice Friday night game vs Denver.

33-15 SOG
55-20 shot attempts

It's like Groundhog Day with these games if UND can't close this one out.

We just need another 3rd period like yesterday.

Your wish was granted!

Western won and jump a point ahead of Denver, but Denver will jump back ahead when they get their three points from SCSU later this evening.

UND will hold an 8 point lead into the break.

Took his ball and went home

Seriously, way to bail on his team.  Can't imagine why you'd leave the bench entirely unless you were ejected.

Obvious take time...   UND can be an extremely scary team but have trouble putting a full 60 in...  Seems somewhat familiar.

Depends on what you mean by playing a full 60.  They didn’t play well, with mistakes for a period or so, but I think the effort was there.  Every team is going to have lapses and poor play, but for the most part it wasn’t like Arizona State was all over us.

He should be suspended by his school if he wasn’t ejected. Walking out while the game is still happening. Wow.

To bad he didn’t do the Gwoz and confront the refs on the ice

Kind of reminded me of the Hakstol timeout game at the Final Five...got a goal from a defenseman (Forbort) late in the second and took that momentum into the third and outworked and outhustled them scoring three straight goals.

So he didn’t have to shake our coaches hands.  Like I said, glad Arizona State signed him to an extension because any coach that can’t accept the other team outplayed his and needs to use refs as an excuse will have a team that isn’t accountable either.

That was fun...we went from not being able to complete two straight passes to running them out of the building in the third.
