brianvf Posted 15 hours ago Author Posted 15 hours ago I have a feeling that there are gonna be a lot of splits this year in the NCHC. Not sure if any team looks noticeably "weaker" than the others. That single point that we got last night forcing OT might loom large as the season progresses. 1 Quote

ASU need their goalies to steal games, and they did that Friday against Miami. They might be a team that will live or die with how their pp is doing. 1 Quote

Doesn’t matter, from week to week and game to game, a lot of our fans will say we are the worst, or how great we can be, depending on the outcome. Just look at the threads of each of our losses. 2 Quote

It felt a little cringey If that’s our biggest concern from the wkd, I’d say we are doing great 1 Quote

They asked Strinden if it would be all right to open parents' night by recognizing his late father, Tom, with a moment of silence before the game. Tom died July 13 after a battle with brain cancer. The other players' parents were recognized during the first intermission. Ben was all for it. Tom's picture was displayed on the center-ice scoreboard and the 11,495 fans in Ralph Engelstad went silent for 15 seconds. Then, Strinden proceeded to have the best game of his college hockey career. Strinden tallied four assists as UND beat Minnesota Duluth 5-1 in the series finale in Ralph Engelstad Arena. Quote In the locker room after the game, Špunar presented the gladiator helmet, which goes to the player of the game, to Strinden. "I love you guys a lot," Strinden told his teammates. "This means a lot." 1 2 Quote

Popular Post farce poobah Posted 15 hours ago Popular Post Posted 15 hours ago I've rarely seen such a large change in playing style from one night to the next. Tonight: - pass the puck forward, never backward and rarely side to side. - don't overextend on offense - sticks on sticks in our own zone. Ultimate of classic KISS hockey. 9 Quote

It’s bizarre that people are so opposed to players saluting fans that showed up. Almost a gopher type arrogance, which was once exhibited by either Woog or Mazzocco questioning our stick salute once when we beat and tied Minnesota. If we want to get real arrogant we can say we should only do a stick salute when we win the big one. 1 2 Quote

Yeah, it is so bizarre that people may be taken aback by the change. The icing on the cake is somehow it is arrogance? 🤪 1 Quote
jk Posted 14 hours ago Posted 14 hours ago PTSD from going 1-4 against them the prior year, including some beatdowns. Even the regular season split that preceded that playoff weekend included a 7-3 Omaha win. So I am tired of it. Likewise CC. Quote
beastandco Posted 13 hours ago Posted 13 hours ago Cody Croal’s hustle to the net/corner on Ollie’s goal is textbook. Coaches are going to absolutely love that in the film room. Seeing stuff like that tonight was so refreshing. 1 Quote
AlphaMikeFoxtrot Posted 13 hours ago Posted 13 hours ago Saluting after a win is fine, live for the moment and make every game memorable. Saluting after a loss is definitely not something a blue blood does. 2 Quote

Cuz it’s hard for me to tell if you don’t know when usually do it or if you’re just being a d**k. This has nothing to do with arrogance or being haughty. We’ve had a tradition for 20(ish?) years and they changed it up; it’s more confusion and curiosity. If it’s the new tradition I actually think it’s cool. Heck I wouldn’t even mind if they did it every home game win or lose just to show appreciation for the fans. But the change was random. 1 Quote
