The thing that really caught me off guard was who the 4th line scored their goals on. I figured our depth may create some mismatches this season where other teams’ 3rd and 4th lines struggle to hang with our 3rd and 4th. But I think all 3 goals were against UST’s top line. First one for sure was against their top line and top D pair. Zakreski’s was against their top line as well. Pretty impressive

Based on their line charts their top line and top d pair were all -3 last night. To be fair, their best player is on the 3rd line listed.

That’s true. The “3rd line” listed for them last night was their top as far as skill goes. I would think lines 1 and 3 are their top 2 though so still impressive for our 4th to take it to them like that.

Hopefully the bad Xcel/Grand Casino vibes departed when Jax took the helm:

The Fighting Hawks are 1-6 in their last seven games in the downtown St. Paul venue. It is where the Brad Berry era came to an end last March with a loss to Western Michigan in the National Collegiate Hockey Conference semifinals.

FYI, the response I got from Sidearm sports regarding the NCHC app crashing on Roku.

Thank you for reaching out.

Our dev team caught the crashing as well and they are debugging the app as we speak.

They may not be able to fix for tonight but we are hopeful a fix will be in place soon.

If you have an iPhone, you can try to Airplay the stream to your TV in the meantime.

Great opportunity to get the season off on a positive note tonight with a sweep.  With only two teams (Maine and Michigan) ahead of us and in the top 10 of the current poll having a clean slate this weekend and we can take a significant step forward for only being one set of games into the season.  I don't want to look back at tonight as a "what could have been" come NCAA selection time.

Pretty sure I heard/read that it will be on Midco Sports+, but no NCHC.TV that I can see.  Even clicking on the "watch" button on the game on NCHChockey just takes you to the Midco Sports+ page.

I don't have Midco cable, so it looks like it will be radio for me tonight.

even if you did, they put stuff on their streaming app that isn't on TV, which is a crying shame, because on TV during that time they are showing reruns of hockey and football games.
