With that said, Oregon vs Montana state is at -27.5 and Illinois vs Wester Ill is at -45.5 LOL. Am I crazy thinking I should take all these bets as easy lay up wins.

I think there’s a thought that with the portal there’s now an even larger gap between top FBS schools and the FCS. Probably can make an argument against it.

You also mentioned the USD game. Am I the only one who’s not truly buying into them? Feels like the world loves them. I get they return Bouman and Pierre but they lost a lot. I don’t know, maybe I’m crazy!

Is Grant Noland’s spot on the depth chart showing how good he performed in camp or how little depth/talent we have at corner? Or both?

Crazy how badly Dixon/Bluiett/Bishop turned out for us.

Some of these issues will take a couple of recruiting classes to fix.

I am hearing Seidl needs to worry more about on-field football and less about the other parts of today's football world.

Can confirm

It’s a mix. He’s been balling. I think Bluiett is injured. There’s also an overall lack of depth. Regardless, anytime a true fr cracks the 2 deep it’s a good thing in my opinion.

He'll have his hands full on Saturday. I'm excited to see how he does.

Not in this day and age of football. This isn’t 2000 college football anymore.

Yeah I don't get it. I also don't understand how they often squeak into the Cow College and rabbits convos for FBS moves while UND gets left out. Given their similar results, you'd think they would be feeling the same disrespect and negative bias that UND often feels with rankings and playoff spots.

Winning on the Road vs the SU's and playoff wins.

Looks like UND is 61-50 over the past decade, and USD is 58-52. UND has made the playoffs 5 times in that span and USD 4 times. USD has 4 playoff game wins in that span and UND only has 2 (someone fact check this). Yes, UND did play half of that in the Big Sky, but overall they have very similar resumes over the past decade but USD will always get the better benefit of the doubt when it comes to rankings and playoff seeding for whatever reason.

4 playoff wins in the past decade isn't exactly SU level of a resume.

  • 2017: Won First Round, lost in Second Round → 1 win
  • 2021: Lost in First Round
  • 2023: Won Second Round, lost in Quarterfinals → 1 win
  • 2024: Won Second Round and Quarterfinals, lost in Semifinals → 2 wins

UND with 1 playoff win.  I'm not a defender of USD, however they have went into both SDSU and NDSU and came away with wins.  UND has never been competitive at NDSU in the D1 era.   Like it or not playoff wins and beating the top teams mean a whole lot more than overall record.

If UND can make a deep run in the playoffs and start winning at the SU's they will be in the conversation.

winning doesn't really have too too much to do with "conference realignment" stuff...just ask kennesaw state

academics

und>usd>ndac>sdac

Agreed, but in a lot of the pointless banter online, those 3 are named with UND being left out despite USD and UND being far more similar with eachother than either of the SU schools.

While, has statement was regarding moving to FBS, Playoff rankings and seeding.  The Average fan looks at who is competitive at FCS to make the move to FBS, not academics.  Regarding Rankings fair or unfair past history is used to determine who are legit and who are frauds.

I still think Z will see a bulk of the carries. I just look at his size and speed and think he has been under utilized in his career at UND. I was messing around on twitter and came across the and came across that reel analytics Z and Seidl were both clocked at 21.7 MPH. That’s crazy considering Z has 40lbs on him.

Glad to see Jerry get the nod though. Hopefully the receiver group comes alive this year. We need a passing game.

I’m excited to see what this Defense will bring this year.

Z has had durability issues so perhaps they want to see quality over quantity from him.

I can see why you added the "on the road" factor because otherwise their SU records are pretty similar too.

UND vs NDSU is 1-6 in that span, and UND vs SDSU is 1-4. Which totals 2-10 for 17% win percentage.

USD is 3-7 vs NDSU and 2-8 vs SDSU. Which totals 5-15 for 25% win percentage.

But to your point, the on the road factor needs to be fixed badly. Especially due to the fact that deep playoff runs will almost always involve road games. But overall USD and UND are in the same boat in essentially every category and don't belong with the SUs but for whatever reason have been put with them more often than back with UND. At least recently, which might make sense due to their at least somewhat successful recent seasons.
