The note that caught my eye was about SCSU:

St. Cloud State

....  overall, SCSU’s class sits near the bottom of the NCHC. And it’ll be interesting to see what their upcoming classes hold. As the university itself continues to struggle, some wonder what the future looks like in St. Cloud.

I went to the SCSU scrimmage last Friday and even with free pizza prior to the game they maybe had 100 people show up. They also looked like an 8th place team. None of the goalies impressed me.

Was this the shot off a face-off and three players touched the puck or was it 4 players touched the puck.

Back from hiatus

Good to have the podcast back! Some nice player mentions:

Said that Zellers and Rickwood still rocking the bubbles for now.
Verhoeff is as-advertised and has a very good one-timer.
Swanson really standing out, especially with his scoring (rather than passing).
Expecting Menghini and Zellers to make good contributions.
James and Josephson to be big PKers, as both tremendous skaters.

That was the GWG against DU in the 2016 F4 to bring it to 3-2 UND with under a minute to go.
Shot deflected right to Schmaltz for the easy wide-open backhand.  Right off the face-off.
And, the rest was history.  ;)

My favorite moment from the last National Championship game that UND won was the bizarre goal where the goalie's clearance deflected off Brock Boeser's rear end, and he immediately capitalized by burying the puck into the net.

This unforgettable college memory serves as a great backdrop for the news that Boeser is reportedly finalizing a massive seven-year contract extension with the Vancouver Canucks, valued at approximately $50 million. It's clear that this commitment is driven not just by money, but by the fact that he's a player who genuinely loves the culture in Vancouver.
