If the Summit drops below 7 schools needed for D1.......................Bring back the old NCC or expand West with the two Utah schools?

Not sure why we would want to go back to our Division 2 days and the NCC.  Not necessarily sold on the Utah schools but I for sure know I dont want Division 2 schools in our area that will now compete for athletes and water down the summit.

None of the above.  Except MN State, but they don't have the money or political support to make it happen.

None, If UND wants to be serious get into a FBS conference like Mountain West. At some point They should just leave the other Dakota schools behind.

Bc St Thomas, Omaha, UMKC, and Oral Bob could get invites from conferences out East...MWC or otherwise

Denver could get a WCC invite 

Then it would be all hands on deck to back or over 7 schools whether or not it's the 4 mentioned above or schools like Emporia State or Nothern State (i kid of course but who knows!)

I see Minot State is in the championship of Northern Sun. Better invite them too. They beat Minnesota State

How do you propose to get into an FBS conference when none of the other Dakota schools have been successful?   I'd venture a guess that two of the other schools might have slightly better credentials than we have and no luck.   I'll grant you that it appears SDSU hasn't tried very hard either to move up though

haha...not advocating any of the above....i'm for a merge of top of bsc and summit and go east and west.......or have fenton dangle some fairy dust at one or two mvc conference members to join up.....

if these rumors are true it's bc fenton is lazy and knows he's being poached (again) and is looking to make sure that the summit is 7 or more schools or else yes.......hello minot, duluth, mankato, and augie and the return of the NCC

Not too long ago there were two "Dakota schools" that wanted into the Big Sky and only one was chosen. I think University Presidents have some say in which schools are invited.

for the record the only reason @gfhockey voted for the worthless utah schools is that they bring morman women with them when they travel to away games....fill in the blanks.

This is far more interesting than what tSL is going to be shortly.  You might have been able to pull NDSU and SDSU over and form two division:

Do you think then that we need to expand?   If so who do we have a chance of bringing over that can elevate the Summit League?  I am not overly excited about the Utah schools, but I also feel that we need to add some stronger D1 schools.  Absolutely no more D2 teams from the Dakota's or Minnesota though.

fenton has a chance to make/keep the summit a "strong" league if he uses all his "bullets' to keep and recruit current and future members.....

if he adds the utah schools it means he's just here for the interim bc he doesn't want his conference to fold bc he couldn't find/keep 7 schools with x amount of common varsity sports....

didn't put that on there bc any school willing to jump up from d2 to keep the summit at 7 or above is good enough for me..i was just curious if people prefer a couple of no name schools in a different time zone a thousand miles away or two closer schools in larger markets within driving distance...or just go back to d2 and join the nsic...
