Concordia-Moorhead travels to Grand Forks tomorrow for the 31st meeting between these two. Should be a great opportunity to see the new looks Hawks before they open the regular season next Monday.

Wish it was streamed! I’ll be listening to it on the radio but just isn’t the same

Maybe there isnt a stream for competetive reasons?  So the first D1 opponents cant scout?  Streaming would certainly be nice for out of town Midco Sports + subscribers though.  I was looking forward to watching tonight.

Both teams are recording the game and it will get uploaded to Synergy. Even if it wasn’t I imagine Concordia would share the film with them. Not like this is one of the secret scrimmages

Just got back from the game. A few thoughts:

- Anyone know the deal with King? Banged up and precautionary sitting?

- Trey is going to have a really big year. Stud.

- who’s going to help Trey offensively? Mier looked like the most likely answer. Had a good night.

- I like Woodson. Shot wasn’t really falling but it looks good, he’ll be fine.

- Mara just doesn’t have the offensive skills. If he can make some corner 3s, he’ll be useful with his athleticism and defense.

- Mayar I don’t think is it. He put up some points tonight but he just doesn’t really pass the eye test for me. Maybe I’m wrong.

- Reggie looked okay. Still adjusting a bit but he’s strong for his size. May get backed down some come D1 games. Think he should be the primary ball handler off the bench. Steady.

- liked seen Kraft get some early mins. He’s a hell of a shooter, likely the only RS freshman to get a real run at minutes. Erikson probably behind him due to need.

- Amar didn’t have a big game but was doing some Amar things. Hit a couple 3s and that walk-in (idk how to phrase it) 3 was awesome. Jawed at the bench a bit.

Wasn’t the prettiest game but that’s why they play it. Get some run in and iron some things out.

thanks for the post

Half our shots were three pointers

Agreed, not much of an inside game to tonight.  Handful of those shooting 3s shouldn’t be.

Radio said it was just precautionary and nothing they’re really concerned about. Never said what specifically the injury was though

Sounds like it was the typical exhibition game. Now onto the real deal!

Colorado State is beatable. Looks like they beat DII Adams State by 16 last night. Not that that's indicative of how their season will go, but they lose 4 out of their top 5 scorers from last season, one of them who led them in 3 pt shooting and assists. This early in the season, it needs to start on the defensive end for UND!

Sorry I got tied up after the game and didn't get to post anything. I would agree with most thoughts posted above.

I think with King back we will see a starting lineup of Panoam, King, Trey, Woodson, Amar. With Reggie, Mara, Mayar, & Mathews coming off the bench.

I liked what Panoam brought last night. Big body. Just needs to shoot it well enough to make the defense guard him at the 3 point line and then he can attack the paint.

Trey is going to have to be a scoring machine this year. Which I think he will be. Wouldn't be surprised if he averages 20+.

Mara will be better coming off the bench. He's still learning & getting comfortable but I think he looked more than capable of being an energy/defense guy off the bench. And knocking down open 3's.

Woodson looked solid. Moves well. Long & athletic. Got a good looking shot. He'll be good for us at the 4.

Reggie will be a good scoring option off the bench. He can get hot quick. Very good full court defender as well. Quick hands & feet.

I'd agree with the thoughts on Mayar. Doesn't look like he plays a whole lot of team ball and can force things. 8-10 minutes off the bench would be the sweet spot I think as he still provides some things like length, size, and rebounding ability.

Amar as our starting 5 scares me a bit. Mathews is a big body but he's really in there just for defense/rebounding.

Like others have said in the past, if Kraft gets minutes then it would have to be because of injury. Kind of like we saw tonight. They gave him 5 minutes at the end of the half. Let's hope there are no injuries this year!

Overall, it was a solid showing. You could tell it was the first live game and players were rusty, but I think we have a lot of really good options and players that can play some nice roles. I think we are a top 3 team in the Summit this year.

On the roster it lists Kraft at 6' 2", but in the team photo, he appears to be taller than King who is listed at 6' 4". Is King's height exaggerated or did Kraft have a growth spurt and his height not get updated? Could be a combo of both I guess.

I know a lot of you are low on Kraft, but I personally think UND will really need a sharp shooter outside of Trey. Scoring will be tougher to come by without Omot. I guess Reggie put up really good 3P % last year, so maybe he's that guy. From what I've seen from Mara, he has a long way to go offensively.

When I hear Kraft is the best shooter on the team, to me that tells me you have to find ways to get him 10-15 minutes a game and 5-6 shots. I know I'll be called crazy, but I've been called worse!

Haven't seen him play, but I agree on Kraft.  Shooters can shoot, and we're going to need one coming in off the bench.
