So evidently Bantam B1 players will never play HS hockey. Play-in games started last season. With that logic at the BAA all four teams should have had to play then the two winners have a best of 3 state tournament. Quote

I’m not around NDAHA anymore but a couple of years ago they were proposing that not every program makes a state tourney at every level. Basically only the top 4 east and west, which is fine with me. This is likely the reason why the 4th team in a 4 team league doesn’t make it… if they indeed followed thru on the proposal above 1 Quote
FgoHawk Posted yesterday at 03:19 PM Posted yesterday at 03:19 PM Is anyone else hearing that Shanley will be independent next year and end the co-op with Fargo South? Quote

I'm guessing they would go the route of so many other Private MN Schools and recruit giving the best players in the area the opportunity to compete against MN teams. I would guess the ultimate goal would be MN class AA Hockey. Its something I've always thought Sacred Heart in EGF should do. Quote

The top five teams automatically qualify, while the 6 vs. 11, 7 vs. 10, and 8 vs. 9 play it out at home sites. Quote

Very few south kids play. I'd assume they end up playing at Fargo North. Can't imagine they'd be called the Spruins. Quote

Hopefully the Jr. Gold has cleaned up a little bit since the days of the police having to separate people in the lobby and parents getting suspended from arenas because of harassing officials. It is much better hockey now than it was when I started officiating games during the late 90s. I don't know what you would have called it back then, it was quite the gong at times. Nothing unordinary about 12 + minors per team in a game. Quote

That year there were several Canadians on the team, along with 7-8 Grand Forks kids that were mostly sophomores. While that was the most successful season they had, most of the Canadians graduated and all but 1 of those Grand Forks kids left after that year which closed the program. The school is bigger now (although they co-op with Climax-Fisher for football now and send wrestlers to Grand Forks where Emily Novak just won her 3rd straight state championship), so maybe it would be different. Trying to get the girls a full day of TV coverage and main sheet like they do in MN. We will see how it goes. Consolation for boys and girls goes to Eagles this year. Once again...Scheels and FU is the best venue for the ND State Hockey tournament. Quote

I said hell no I'm here to get these kids ready for the next level which is high school. I can guarantee you they improved much more staying in the A division rather than going down to B1 I assume that you weren't getting run out of buildings playing A? I agree with playing at the highest level you can while still having a chance to win in 80% of the games you play. Most development is happening in practice, so while game reps are good, they aren't really driving the dev. In the AAA world there are tons of teams that are AAA in name only...they chase the letters...and when they run into a real AAA team they lose by 20...that isn't good for anybody Quote
