The Sicatoka Posted September 13, 2016 Posted September 13, 2016 Tonight: Team Finland vs. Team USA - Verizon Center; Washington, DC7 p.m. ET - ESPN, SN1, TVA Sports 1 Quote
The Sicatoka Posted September 14, 2016 Posted September 14, 2016 Interesting US power play unit: Oshie, Stepan, JVR with Suter and big Byf. Quote
The Sicatoka Posted September 14, 2016 Posted September 14, 2016 And then they throw Byfuglien, Backes, and Abdelkader out as a line ... Quote
cberkas Posted September 14, 2016 Posted September 14, 2016 I'd take Steve Leavy over Buccigross. 3 1 Quote
The Sicatoka Posted September 14, 2016 Posted September 14, 2016 But it was pretty weak sauce last night. You could tell the crew (Levy and Melrose) were in Bristol and not Verizon in DC. Quote

LuvHockey Posted September 14, 2016 Posted September 14, 2016 PyeongChang, South Korea, won the bid for the 2018 Olympics on July 6, 2011, beating out Munich and Annecy, France. The opening ceremony is set for Feb. 9 and the closing ceremony is scheduled for Feb. 25. 1 Quote

siouxfan512 Posted September 16, 2016 Posted September 16, 2016 Not sure where to put this, but I figure this is as good of a place as any. There has been plenty of article floating around regarding whether or not the NHL will participate in the Olympics in 2018. If they choose not to, would we expect to see the Olympic team go back to college players then? On the one hand, it would be really hard to compete. On the other hand, it would be really fun to see college kids back on the Olympic team. It'll be interesting to see if college kids get the opportunity, and if UND will have anyone that would be able to participate at that time. Quote
Godsmack Posted September 16, 2016 Posted September 16, 2016 On the NHL Network yesterday afternoon they reported that Alex Ovechkin said he intends to play in the 2018 Olympics regardless of the NHL will allow players to participate. Quote
cberkas Posted September 17, 2016 Posted September 17, 2016 I don't think the World Cup of Hockey is going to succeed. It didn't work last time. I'm on the get rid of Gary Bettmen bandwagon. NBC isn't going to stop Olympic broadcast to show NHL games. If Bettman was smart he'd realize that if the USA wins the gold the NHL benefits as does the sport. 2 Quote
cberkas Posted September 17, 2016 Posted September 17, 2016 Team USA needs to go to the 1960 jersey permanently. The shot of the 1960 jersey next to the WCH jersey showed how nice the 1960 jersey is. Quote
cberkas Posted September 17, 2016 Posted September 17, 2016 No goal Intentionally off the glove, hit Stephan's helmet. Quote
cberkas Posted September 17, 2016 Posted September 17, 2016 Quick with a game saving save to keep it 3-0. Quote
cberkas Posted September 17, 2016 Posted September 17, 2016 3-0 Europe beats USA. Halak was the best player on the ice. Quote
farce poobah Posted September 17, 2016 Posted September 17, 2016 Listless by USA. No energy, and less than that after they got down 2-0. Kinda reminds me of USA Basketball before it got re-engineered by Jerry Colangelo and Coach K. 1 Quote
cberkas Posted September 18, 2016 Posted September 18, 2016 2-0 Canada Goalie should have had it. Quote
