If they were just barely beating mediocre teams you might have a point, but (as Schlossman has mentioned numerous time on the College Hockey Today podcast) Penn State is beating teams so convincingly that you just can't rationally dismiss their success as being nothing more than the result of a soft schedule. The fact that they got a win and a tie at Notre Dame is pretty strong evidence that they're the real deal. Chances are many teams could play Penn State's schedule and have a pretty good record, but very few if any would have a record as good as Penn State has.

I guess it doesn't really matter. You can only play the teams that are on your schedule. They'll be in the national tourney and have the chance to prove people right or wrong depending on where you stand.

So, I'm starting to get into a debate with a CC fan who's decided to lecture me on how disrespectful UND fans are regarding the national anthem (yelling SIOUX!) at the very end. While I find this tradition boorish and played, I don't believe any UND fans' intentions are to disrespect the anthem or the flag. I pointed out this older man who sits next to me at CC games who yells, "Let's go Tigers!" At exactly the same spot as where UND fans yell, Sioux! His retort is that it's different because it's only a CC fan or two and plus this guy is starting his cheer right "around" the word brave whereas UND fans are deliberately trying to cover up the word, brave. I called him out on his home team bias-why is it ok for one side to do it but not an opposing team. Thoughts?

It ain't different no matter the numbers, hometown bias IMO, a wrong (not that I'm calling it a wrong) don't make a wrong right.

While at the same time Wisconsin inches closer to bubble territory. Literally two-thirds of the Big Ten teams are now among the top 20 in PWR. Not too shabby for an allegedly terrible conference. :silly:

I don't know about you, but I'd go even a step further with your Big Ten positivity...100% of the Big Ten teams are in the top 47 in PWR!

Let's see how many make the field of 16...Michigan State, no.  Michigan, no.  Wisconsin, no.  1 or 2 of the 3 remaining teams will make it.
