Wish him well, really appreciate what he did at UND.

He made Omaha into a team that should be taken seriously, just couldn't get the team to show up for the conference playoffs and was robbed when Omaha played Michigan in the NCAA's in 2011.

I wonder what happened from 2 days ago when he said he'd be back.

I doubt we'll ever truly know, but my guess would be "internal politics" at the university.

Me too, forced retirement is my guess.

This does not seem to be a forced departure.   If there was animosity, UNO wouldn't let Dean be part of the process to hire his successor.

Which still leaves the question of "what changed from two days ago" ... (maybe Karl Goehring declined an assistant job at UNO and Dean knows he needs better goaltending / goalie coaching to move up).

So I have heard that Maine has fired Red Genderon (with no proof) and Michigan has hired a new head coach according to a NHL agent.

Hearing University of Michigan Hockey program has their new head coach. Great choice UofM. Great choice...

Red just signed a two-year extension last February - thru 2019.  Smooth move if Maine has indeed given him the axe.

Someone said they saw it and I couldn't find it, the Michigan thing is more odd since they are still playing. It sounds like Red Wing fans don't like Dan Milstein all that much.

Now it looks like Dan Milstein deleted his tweet and said his source was unreliable.
