MinnesotaNorthStar
I remember being in Duluth for the series during the 2001-02 disaster that we called a hockey season. Some Sioux fans almost brawled with tPB after we scored the go-ahead (and GWG) and they tried running around the arena with a Sioux flag. DHG and Co. wasn't havin it at all. Duluth...good times. DrunkHockeyGuy
Yep. Oh and that 6-3 win...Reichmuth started and let in 3 goals in about 10 minutes, so he was pulled for Johnson. First of all spanky, get your games right. When tUMD lost 6-3, Johnson played the enitre game. That was Saturday. When Isaac got pulled Friday night, after giving up 3 goals, tUMD came back to tie it up at the end of the first, it was 3-3. They lost 5-4. Research before you post.
CoteauRinkRat
That game where UND came back was great. I thought they wre down like 3-1 though with about 2 minutes to go. Then scored 3 goals in the last minute to win the game. Craziness. That is still one of the best games I have ever seen. It was a crazy college hockey game that was really fun to attend. Wasn't that the year McMahon got into a big fight? I think so. Oh, DHG, please don't yell vulgarities at us in our Sioux jerseys on Friday night. We're going to have our pre- and grade school kids with us. Save it for Saturday, it'll just be the adults. Thanks.
TC_transplant
I guess that explains moronic comments about Duluth being favored.Or maybe it's the fact that Duluth is in first place in the WCHA? NEVER, EVER, underestimate Dean Blais and what he can do with a team. 2001 was a long time ago.

You won't hear any vulgarities from DHG or any other core PB members - we don't swear in tDECC anymore. We made the change two years ago so that we could remain standing. It was kind of a compromise between us and admin... But I did hear some Gopher fans say some of our bandwagoners threw the "F" bomb at them in the series two weeks ago. I'm beginning to really hate our new fans...

I actually liked the Decc in my visit 2 yrs ago but had my 6 yr old son with me. Having the students lead by white helmut guy yelling you know what at me for wearing my Sioux jersey wasn't the best thing for him. Fortunately he didn't go back to the hotel and recount the incident for my wife. Or he wouldn't be going with me to the game this friday! jloos
I'm looking for this series to be one of the best in recent years. I'm glad to see Duluth doing well again, they have some great fans that are very loyal, even the previous few 'rebuilding' years. SS has done a great job. Duluth has had a great year, I'll almost feel sorry for them they are swept this weekend, dropping out of 1st place. I remember watching the Sioux skate in the scrimmage at the beginning of the year and thinking "that Fabian kid can barely skate, he'll never dress". Glad to see him prove me wrong, he is a little sloppy on the skates for a D1 player, but he is strong on them. The few times I've seen him play I've been impressed, he works harder than anybody else. It's great to see a kid that could have gotten more icetime elsewhere work his a$$ off for a spot with the team he always wanted to play for. I'd still like to see Masson given another chance, I think he matches up well with Duluth. Also look for Palmo to see some ice time, being this is his last year. Maybe not this weekend, but he'll be in the line-up for sure against tech.

I was there too, but on the opposite end of the large group of Sioux fans, which you were probably in. I remember seeing the group try to go to the right and go by the Penalty Box, but that was shut down. However, during the next goal you guys went to the right and were doing much better. A college student got in the way and was pretending to be walking really slow in an attempt to block the line. I saw this coming early, so I decided to walk towards the line. When I approached him I asked him which way he was going because he was blocking the whole path. He didn't say anything, so I kindly boxed him out and the Sioux fan line was on their way. A security guy was mad at the kid for blocking the way and had no problem with me clearing the way.
beersong
Since you guys brought up the goal lap. ***NOTE TO SIOUX FANS: DO NOT ATTEMPT A GOAL LAP IF/WHEN UND SCORES*** You thought we were protective of it a couple years ago, you have no idea how "special" that tradition has proven to be for us. If anyone attempts a lap from the Sioux camp, a police officer will approach you to ask you not to do that in the DECC and ask you to go to your seat. Here is where the tricky part seems to be for Gopher fans: When the officer tells you to go sit down, DO NOT PUNCH HIM! You will be immediately beaten down, cuffed, and brought to St. Louis County Jail! Three people were escorted out of the arena for interfering or starting their own goal lap two weekends ago when Minnesota was in town. The one described above was a 40 year old male and did spend the night in jail and is also rumored to have ties to a certain player of the Gophers! So in conclusion... DON'T DO A GOAL LAP! CoteauRinkRat
That will sound like a challenge to some people, not a warning. Do you think we are that stupid to punch a cop?
Fedorov
As much as I can understand wanting to keep the goal lap yours since you started it, I would assume the security guards have no legal justification for stopping only certain people from doing it. You don't want to be known as bad hosts, do you? Do you want to be like St. Cloud not letting the webcast in? The Goofers trying to kick the scratched players out of the press box? We could write letters to your president so you get into the USA Today.
PCM
Good to hear. [sarcasm]Gosh, it appears that you and your wife don't have the proper appreciation for the free educational opportunities provided by Bulldog fans. How is your son going to learn to swear if he's not exposed to the realities of life? [/sarcasm]
beersong
If people see that as a challenge, then good luck to them. I hope they like eating fists. Next time I come to the Ralph, maybe I'll pee all over the Ralph statue and see how you like it.
Fedorov
Next time I come to the Ralph, maybe I'll pee all over the Ralph statue and see how you like it. Who would what be copying? I think it would be cool if more of your fans got into the goal lap. It is pretty accessible for everyone. I think it would be very intimidating if it went on for a few minutes after every goal, and then for even longer if you score a couple of quick goals. 01grad
I hope Duluth knows that they didn't originate the victory scoring lap. Everyone knows this was started by our cowboy at football games a long ways back. They may have become one of the few hockey groups to do it, but we started it. Diggler
Oh come on beersong. Peeing on the statue is completely different from running a lap around the arena. I wouldn't do the lap but one is illegal and the other isn't.

Fedorov
Will our players be able to do the goal lap to Brandt after they score, or will that elicit urination as well?

Umm, yeah. Maybe a few years ago I did that stuff, but I don't curse people in the visiting uniform unless they absolutly do something childish to offend me. I was not one of those jerks that were getting on the gopher fans. And UND fans are ones to talk, someone tried to fight us BOTH nights at the Ralph, same guy, and then everyone at the Bars wanted to fight us, we just kept saying "It is just a game,." "Win or Lose we booze," and "7." And you are talking to me about being worried about being rude. Thats fine, now YOU do me a favor. Let your fans know not to be disrespectful and try and run a lap in our building.
