InHeavenThereIsNoBeer
Luke Johnson has done nothing....again. But he never gets called out... For that game I think Zane played great, 2 deflection goals and a great PP goal. People that need to get called out IMO Pattyn, Johnson, Jordan Schmaltz, OD needs to sit for Trevor Olson That being said it's 1 game so no reason to freak out
808287
From what I could see, not much effort tonight from anyone other than Caggs past the 15 minute mark of period 2. Outworked. Outplayed.
cberkas
Yeah they did not come out hard in the 3rd. The guy looked like they wanted the game in the first half of the 1st then St. Cloud decided they wanted it more. UND had golden opportunities early to take the lead but missed. siouxstudent
Welp that was fun. So how do I watch the Sioux get the Split tomorrow? Is NCHCtv the only option?
scpa0305
If Duluth swept them at home they must be good Duluth just lost. This conference is tough. I still think the boys played a pretty bad game.

808287
Really poor penalty by OD in the third that hurt. Not that it made the only difference in the game. St.C had a triple pipe in the second period that could have easily been a goal. This team needs to re purpose themselves and come out for sixty minutes tomorrow night. Heck...65 minutes. SiouxScore
Frustrating performance because the Sioux didn't do anything real well tonight and still only got beat because of a couple bad deflections. Lost way too many individual battles tonight and got outworked and outhustled most of the game. Gotta be better on the faceoffs and need to test Lindgren more tomorrow there were way too many good opportunities that either didn't hit the net or got blocked because guys didn't get the shot off quick. Hope to see this team come out a lot more physical tomorrow and that probably starts with inserting Olson into the lineup tomorrow. St. Cloud had it way too easy in front of the net and I wasn't happy to see nothing done about SCSU getting some late slashes on Zane again tonight that has happened way too often this season and that needs to change starting tomorrow. .357
Jordan has been average at best so far this season. LJ below average. OD is OD...has been for 4 years yet Hak loves him. That's the most frustrating part of losing: not playing with intensity for 60 minutes. I wonder if this ho-hum attitude is contagious on the bench, this going-through-the motions crap. You would think the team leadership or coaching staff would notice this & do something like a call a TO, switch up the lines, change the strategy, just something to get back the momentum.. 808287
We lost due to special teams- we have weak pp without nschmatltz I agree our pp is not the same with out N.S., but that is not the only reason we came up short. There were a lot of passes behind skaters tonight, and some poor puck pressure when we didn't have the biscuit.

yzerman19
We didn't play great, but we went toe to toe with a good team with our rookie #1 draft pick out hurt
808287
The St. Cloud color guy said UND would put you on your ass if you were near the goalie when he covered the puck. That was Tom Satterdalen, former coach of Bloomington Jefferson HS, and winning coach of a LOT of MN tourney's. And he's right, the game has changed. We used to have guys who would make you pay for camping in front of the net. But with penalties being what they are, it's not worth the risk anymore. Now we need to have D-men who are mobile and can take the puck up ice with speed, and jump into the slot when we have opportunities for offense. It's a different style of play, and requires different players to cover positions.
siouxweet
We didn't play great, but we went toe to toe with a good team with our rookie #1 draft pick out hurt so we are relegated to moral victories now? so evidently this isn't as deep of a team as some say, cuz if you lose a rookie you now hope for the best? und had troubles winning faceoffs tonight which is a focus issue. win more faceoffs and you might get a few more opportunities to have a scoring chance instead of racing around chasing the puck the majority of the time. What you said. That about sums it up.. They weren't just losing draws after a hard-fought scramble, SCSU was winning most of those faceoffs cleanly. And how they can go hot against Miami in game 2 to cold most of tonight is baffling.. Game 1 last week was also like tonight, heart just not into the game.. jk
It's been mentioned, but not enough. The Sioux were quick at the start of the game, and slow by the end. What happened in between? 100 lost faceoffs, including every one in front of Zane. Every whistle was basically handing possession to SCSU and chasing them for thirty seconds. They're going to have to fix that. I personally don't buy the "didn't show up." I thought they played hard, missed the net on some good looks, and ran out of gas chasing the Huskies around trying to get the puck back.
