siouxweet Posted January 22, 2014 Posted January 22, 2014 The memo USCHO posted didn't say anything about treating conference games differently, but I don't know anything more than what I pieced together from that and CHN's article. Neither USCHO nor I treat conference games differently in our current PWR tables; but, there's no way to be sure any of us have it right until we see what matches up with the actual selections. I stand corrected, I thought I saw somewhere about the fri night bemidji game being more important because it was on the road and NC.
yzerman19 Posted January 23, 2014 Posted January 23, 2014 I used to know the PWR inside and out...this new model is very different
MafiaMan Posted January 23, 2014 Posted January 23, 2014 I just checked Wilbur's Pairwise formula and according to him, UND stands a very good chance of making the NCAA tournament if they win every game here on out thru the NCHC tournament. 3

MafiaMan Posted January 23, 2014 Posted January 23, 2014 so you're saying there's a chance As Lt. Frank Drebin would say: "There's a 50/50 shot. Although there's only a 33% chance of that."
squirtcoach Posted January 23, 2014 Posted January 23, 2014 As Lt. Frank Drebin would say: There's a 50/50 shot. Although there's only a 33% chance of that." 80% of statistics on the Internet are made up
Frozen4sioux Posted January 23, 2014 Posted January 23, 2014 60% of the time............. It works, every time.
Blackheart Posted January 25, 2014 Posted January 25, 2014 Now 16 and that does not factor in tonites win...
Blackheart Posted January 25, 2014 Posted January 25, 2014 Tied for 14th Wow! A win tomorrow would be huge.
siouxweet Posted January 25, 2014 Posted January 25, 2014 a win tonight and und is 12-13, a loss puts und in that 16-18 range.
smokey the cat Posted January 25, 2014 Posted January 25, 2014 I wonder what a tie does? Bums us out.
Goon Posted January 25, 2014 Posted January 25, 2014 Bums us out. I have yet to see a live shootout on TV or in person.
siouxweet Posted January 25, 2014 Posted January 25, 2014 I have yet to see a live shootout on TV or in person. you shootout lovers I tell ya.
yzerman19 Posted January 25, 2014 Posted January 25, 2014 Biggest game of the year thus far...a sweep of Denver at Magness will go a long way in the PWR and will put us in the driver's seat to win the first NCHC conference title. Although the big prize for that might be a first round date with Miami... 1
Blackheart Posted January 25, 2014 Posted January 25, 2014 I have yet to see a live shootout on TV or in person. lucky you.

Although the big prize for that might be a first round date with Miami... Boy, doing the what if calculator is tough.....Every series is like....ummm...probably a split....probably a split..... I've got SCSU winning the league with UND and Denver battling neck and neck for the second spot. But its close all the way......
Goon Posted January 26, 2014 Posted January 26, 2014 Mark it down now, UND will be in the NCAA tourney.
Frozen4sioux Posted January 26, 2014 Posted January 26, 2014 Mark it down now, UND will be in the NCAA tourney. i am more of the worried conspiracy theory that the ncaa has left the pwr ambiguously muddied as to cherry pick the brackets bubble teams which means 2 things... 1) they will snub a bubble (say #14) und team from the tourney 2) they will manipulate a gopher und matchup ...because well nc$$. 3) black helicopters
jimdahl Posted January 28, 2014 Author Posted January 28, 2014 i am more of the worried conspiracy theory that the ncaa has left the pwr ambiguously muddied as to cherry pick the brackets bubble teams which means 2 things... Yep. Until we see the tournament picks exactly match the rankings, I'm not completely confident that the transparency we're all accustomed to has continued. We'll see.
jimdahl Posted January 28, 2014 Author Posted January 28, 2014 Is the NCHC really slumping? How many teams will each conference place in the NCAA tournament? Sneak peek:
