sioux2013 Posted January 3, 2014 Posted January 3, 2014 Five guards are bringing it in this lineup...hhehehahahahah Quote
SWSiouxMN Posted January 3, 2014 Author Posted January 3, 2014 Did huff pass the ball and get an assist? Quote
UND-1 Posted January 3, 2014 Posted January 3, 2014 Huff just drove and dropped it to a wide open Webb for two. First time all game I can remember somebody actually passing it once they got in the lane. Quote
homer Posted January 3, 2014 Posted January 3, 2014 amazing what happens when we make the extra pass. Two posessions in a row Quote
homer Posted January 3, 2014 Posted January 3, 2014 hookers gotta be thinking wtf did he get himself into lol unlikely Quote
SWSiouxMN Posted January 3, 2014 Author Posted January 3, 2014 what the... Webb hit a jump shot!!!!!! Quote
gfhockey Posted January 3, 2014 Posted January 3, 2014 suu gets a and 1 after web knocks down a clutch j Quote
SWSiouxMN Posted January 3, 2014 Author Posted January 3, 2014 That was a terrible call. gotta beat the spread Quote
UND-1 Posted January 3, 2014 Posted January 3, 2014 gotta beat the spread No threat there. Spread was an astounding 18. Quote
sioux24/7 Posted January 3, 2014 Posted January 3, 2014 Still a pathetic performance. Webb is the only reason we won. Quote
sioux24/7 Posted January 3, 2014 Posted January 3, 2014 Benton really confuses me. He reminds me of a football/hockey player trying to play basketball at the Y. Good defensively, but has no touch on offense and no control. But when I watch him in pregame he drills 3s left and right. 1 Quote
sioux2013 Posted January 3, 2014 Posted January 3, 2014 5 guards the last 3-4 minutes that brought us back. Great effort at the end by those guys and thats what won the game for us. Maybe some lessons were learned tonight cause Jones had very little patience for bad shots and poor defense tonight cause he benched the players when it happened. I do like what he did and the message was sent. Quote
bincitysioux Posted January 3, 2014 Posted January 3, 2014 Good to get a win, no matter how underwhelming it was. Quote
petey23 Posted January 3, 2014 Posted January 3, 2014 Went to the game tonight and I would have to describe my mood as agitated. That was hard to watch as we struggled with the 350th best team in the country or 2nd worst team if you want to look at it that way. Quote
NODAK13 Posted January 3, 2014 Posted January 3, 2014 Don't know if anybody caught what the TV announcer said last night about our rebounding. He said it appears the UND players are running to the rim for rebounds and not finding a man and boxing them out. He definitely hit the nail on the head with that one cause game after game we don't box out. Calcaterra our post has only got 7 rebounds in the last 3 games total. Nash is another one that never boxes out just runs to the rim. So many basic fundamentals that are not being done. Quote
NODAK13 Posted January 3, 2014 Posted January 3, 2014 gotta beat the spread Honestly the spread means nothing and who sets the spread? We beat the spread against Wisconsin, Oregon and Butler and that got us 3 loses. We didn't beat the spread against Southern Utah and we got a win. I will take the win no matter what even if we played poorly. Quote
jdub27 Posted January 3, 2014 Posted January 3, 2014 Some quick thoughts on the game last night: -Was nice to see Jones yank a couple players out of the line-up immediately after a dumb play regardless of who they were (Huff twice and Hooker once among a few others). After the UNC game, someone said that they thought Coach Ahelegbe was in charge of subsitutions. I watched last night and he may be in charge of some rotational stuff, but it was Jones who immediately looked down the bench to put someone in multiple times. -Nash was more athletic than anyone they had, needs to drive instead of taking outside shots -Defense showed flashes and then looked terrible next time down the court -Same with the zone offense -The drive and dish by Huff at the end of the game has been being set up for 3 1/2 years now, was a great play -Can't believe Webb hit that shot at the end with the shot clock running down Haven't seen any of SUU's other games this year, but they looked better than an 0-8 team. Somewhat concerning because it seems we played down to their level. Having a hard time comprehending how UND can play at a high level against teams like Wisconsin and NDSU, with good ball movement and using their athleticism, and then look like that against a team they should run out of the gym. That being said, very much needed win. Anyone have any idea why when SUU shoots free throws, they had 4 guys back, leaving only the shooter to get the rebound against 4 UND guy, basically conceding any rebound on a miss? Quote

Perhaps they're intimated by our athleticism and how quickly we can get the ball up the floor? They probably wanted to control the tempo and really slow things down. Quote

They probably wanted to control the tempo and really slow things down. Kind of what I though as well, but you'd think they'd at least still put a guy or two down low to at least give some token pressure on the rebound. Don't remember seeing a team do that consistently throughout a game. Quote
UNDsportsFANATIC Posted January 3, 2014 Posted January 3, 2014 So many negative Nancy's after a much needed win. Scroll down and read, every single comment is bad. We all get frustrated with this team and im totally guilty, but after a win, come on. Let it be a confidence booster if nothing else. A win is win. I'll take it. 3 Quote

Right - and that attitude is why they go 16-16 every year. Hopefully, they are able to snatch up a CIT bid again. Quote
UNDsportsFANATIC Posted January 3, 2014 Posted January 3, 2014 UND 1, that means with your negative comments they go 22-8? Riiiight! You know so much about basketball, which is whuy you comments have so much weight. (Sarcasm there) Quote
