Oxbow6 Posted November 21, 2013 Posted November 21, 2013 Mo. St. is definitely not a great team, but this year they certainly weren't the bottom feeder they have been in the past. Beat two teams ranked in the top 25 and put the highest point total of the season on NDSU's defense. It would have been a loss if UND matched up with Mo. St. this year IMO. I have no idea what they have coming back next year though so we'll see Danny boy said they win by 3 TDs...they won't. Quote
Bison06 Posted November 21, 2013 Posted November 21, 2013 Danny boy said they win by 3 TDs...they won't. Was UND better than Indiana State this year? Quote
jdub27 Posted November 21, 2013 Posted November 21, 2013 Was UND better than Indiana State this year? No way to know (I'd say yes), but their only common opponent was SDSU. SDSU beat Indiana State 29-0 and UND 35-28. Quote
UNDBIZ Posted November 21, 2013 Posted November 21, 2013 Was UND better than Indiana State this year? Ah yes, because we all know that if team A beats team B by 30 and team B beats team C by 3, then team A will beat team C by 33. Kind of like Montana St. pounding UND by 40, barely squeaking by UNC, and then UND beating UNC. Makes sense. Quote
Oxbow6 Posted November 21, 2013 Posted November 21, 2013 Was UND better than Indiana State this year? Not sure they didn't play each other but based on common opponent SDSU possibly...and this year has nothing to do with next year's 2 teams and UND losing by 21. Just saying I don't think that will happen next year. Quote

I guess its a good thing they don't play until next year. Excited to see another vaunted MVFC defense (outside of NDSU's) lock down an OOC opponent. Quote

How else do you propose we have this hypothetical conversation? Quote

Always talking trash, but never really backing it up. Beat a MVFC opponent and then talk trash about the conference. Quote

Beat a MVFC opponent and then talk trash about the conference. UND has played a whopping 1 game against the MVFC in the last 5 years. They lost to the preseason 2nd place team by a whole 7 points in one of their worst seasons ever and put more yards on them than anyone in the MVFC did and more points than all but 1 team (not counting UNI's 2OT points). UNDBIZ Posted November 21, 2013 Posted November 21, 2013 YYesll at some college kid tell he cries! What......? "Yell at some college kid until he cries!" I assume that is his expectation for the new coach....... Quote

Interesting how the conversation has come full circle. Did you happen to notice who that "other team" was that scored so many point on SDSU was? Quote
UNDBIZ Posted November 21, 2013 Posted November 21, 2013 So UND (a terrible team this year in nearly every aspect) lost to the 4th place MVFC team by a whopping 7 points. Quote
jdub27 Posted November 21, 2013 Posted November 21, 2013 Does it make it better if I say currently playing for 2nd place going into the last weekend of the season? Quote
Bison06 Posted November 21, 2013 Posted November 21, 2013 So UND (a terrible team this year in nearly every aspect) lost to the 4th place MVFC team by a whopping 7 points. Make up your mind fellas. Does comparative scoring matter or not. A loss is a loss right? And by the way, had SDSU coaches not had a stroke(figurative) and decided to abandon the run game in the second half. UND would have put up 14-21. Quote

One 3 and out early in the 4th quarter does not equal the second half. 1 Quote
Bison06 Posted November 21, 2013 Posted November 21, 2013 One 3 and out early in the 4th quarter does not equal the second half. There were many people on this board who questioned SDSU not continuing to go to Zenner. Let's not re-write history. Also, that 3 and out led to another possession and a touchdown for UND, which is what made the game look much closer than it was IMO. Quote

geaux_sioux Posted November 21, 2013 Posted November 21, 2013 Back on track and topic...expectations: Much better than this past season. Now don't you SU's trolls have to go sheer sheep??? Just the QB play should make a huge difference. The Oline had the most to prove of any group which say a whole lot about how much they sucked this year. A good thing about getting new coaches is that the best players will play. Gone are the days of wishing for Sparks to get carries and Labat Edwards and Rich to get snaps. 3 Quote
