larsensa Posted April 10, 2011 Posted April 10, 2011 It was a fun year until the very end again. Now that it is officially over, I am just curious who you will miss watching in the Sioux gear? For me, it is Trupp. I loved watching him play for the Sioux. Quote
Goon Posted April 10, 2011 Posted April 10, 2011 (edited) All of them! I agree I miss hockey already and thank God I have the Stanley Cup to keep me occupied through the spring. Edited April 10, 2011 by Goon Quote
coach daddy Posted April 10, 2011 Posted April 10, 2011 Trupp was a fun watch from the first time he laced them up for UND. Frattin made a statement about life in the way he turned himself around. Quote
Siouxmama Posted April 10, 2011 Posted April 10, 2011 I don't think I could single out 1 player. They were all great and complimented each other well on the ice. Matt, Brad, Derrick, Jake, Chay, Brent and Evan, you are a special bunch of guys. You will be missed. Good luck to every one of you in your future years. Quote
star2city Posted April 10, 2011 Posted April 10, 2011 Greatly admire LaPoint and Genoway for their inspirational comebacks from absolutely horrible injuries. Quote
dagies Posted April 10, 2011 Posted April 10, 2011 I'll miss all of the seniors. I already do. They all had good abilities and were contributed in their own ways. Thank you to ALL of you seniors. It was fun watching you for these 4 years. You will be missed! Quote
fargosioux Posted April 10, 2011 Posted April 10, 2011 Pony! Without a doubt. The way he plays is the way I hope my sons play the game someday. Quote
SiouxScore Posted April 10, 2011 Posted April 10, 2011 All of them will be missed, they each brought something different to the team and brought it to the rink every night. Quote
siouxnami Posted April 10, 2011 Posted April 10, 2011 Trupp, great players come through often, great players that can do what he does are so rare... Quote
andrea6977 Posted April 10, 2011 Posted April 10, 2011 I will miss all of them as i usually do every year, its nice to be able to keep up with some of them on twitter though Quote
SIOUXNDFAN Posted April 10, 2011 Posted April 10, 2011 They were a very special group of Seniors. Young men that made a difference for Sioux Hockey. Quote
ticklethetwine Posted April 10, 2011 Posted April 10, 2011 We will miss them all. I think I will certainly miss the pony express line. Quote
sioux rube Posted April 10, 2011 Posted April 10, 2011 There is no way I could pick one. They all brought something different and special to the team. I wish them all nothing but the best. Quote
jodcon Posted April 10, 2011 Posted April 10, 2011 Maybe the question should be "Has there ever been or will there ever be a more enjoyable group of Sioux seniors?" I say no. Quote
UND85 Posted April 10, 2011 Posted April 10, 2011 I'll miss all of them too but really enjoyed watching Pony play hard over the years the most. Quote
Mbueno Posted April 10, 2011 Posted April 10, 2011 I will miss them all, I was glad to see Genoway come back this year! Glad I had the chance to see them play all these years! You guys will be missed, Good luck on your future endeavors!! Quote
franchise Posted April 10, 2011 Posted April 10, 2011 Pony's grit, Frattin pure scoring ability, Trupp's creativity, Marto's versatility Quote
Wilbur Posted April 10, 2011 Posted April 10, 2011 Here is what I'll miss about each of them.... Davidson-Did whatever was asked of him. A true team guy. LaPoint-Coming back from the injury, and elevating his game. A solid four year defenseman. Marto-Could play anywhere they asked him to play. And was successful wherever they put him. Trupp-His creativity with the puck. The goal against the gophers was amazing......He scored a couple of goals that I'll never forget. Malone-Put his body on the line over and over again and was never afraid to go into the rough areas with the puck. I think he'll have a good career in the NHL. Frattin-Just the comeback he made. Turning his life around. A lot of players would have just took the money. He made things right with the university. Genoway-Great skating ability, and maneuverability with the puck. I'm so glad that we got to see him play another year. Talk about a kid that was hit with injuries time and time again, but always came back. No, they didn't win a national championship, but I still consider them to be an extremely successful class. Two McNaughton cups, two Broadmore trophies, two frozen fours. I know success is based on championships at UND, but these guys played their hearts out each time they stepped on the ice. 4 Quote
NWCatSIoux00 Posted April 11, 2011 Posted April 11, 2011 Every single one of them. I only got to watch them play in person once, but I've listened since before them and man... it was amazing to listen about them. Great leaders on and off the ice. Best of luck to every single one of them in all life's ventures. You've made us Sioux fans proud!! Quote
