Completely different situation if you ask me. 

Cullen Potter wasn’t asked to play an extra year of juniors. He left the NTDP U17 team, not the U18 team. He just decided not to complete the 2 year NTDP commitment.

Michigan State didn’t have a roster spot for him so wanted him to play another year with NTDP.

Idk if you watch the games or just check the score boxes but I’ve seen him play live and since he joined Tri City. Offensively he obviously checks the boxes but the other side of his game needs development, typical high end High School player transition. Good thing is he is already fixing his mistakes of over handling the puck and learning you can’t beat players at higher levels 1 on 1 like he did for Shakopee.

With Simpson, it comes down to if Jackson thinks he's ready to come in and contribute right away. Can he not be a mess defensively while chipping in a decent amount offensively?

Toews did not bring the cup to GF, which is disappointing since he's from Winnipeg and had three chances to do it. And he doesn't seem to hardly ever mention UND in interviews. He could be a great ambassador for the school and hockey program.

You’re right it is strictly going by box scores. I would much rather he stay and play a year in juniors, but if people are trying to flip him to play next year, I would consider whether they can get him up to speed playing both ways.  For sure box scores only give you part of the picture, but it can give you a look at whether someone is even being able to get their shot off or not, and the +/- can give you a glimpse whether they are more productive than they are a liability.

This is 100% true. He needs to develop his two way game.

He’s going to play a year in the USHL like Blake and Zellers did

I think they bring in Zellers, Klee, Zakreski, Schultz + 1-2 more CHL guys up front. + 2-3 transfers.

Probably just Laurila on the back end but maybe Lindberg if they want extra depth with Zmolek’s injury history

Wonder if Lindberg would be better suited going back to junior like Laurila did, play in all situations, big minutes, develop more offensively.

True. Schlossman’s just mentioned him as a maybe so that’s why I bring him up. Also could find a depth guy in the portal, preferably right shot

As in, Jackson told them not to come in?  With Bumgarner, I could definitely see that being the case.

Correct, Katie said that Dane de-committed two recruits. She approved of how his beginning at Head Coach is going. Bold moves, hope he is making good decisions.

I hope it’s not Pilgrim. I hope they take a wait and see approach with him for now because he bleeds green. There were rumblings of a lower level OHL guy that was quietly committed under Berry. I’m hoping it’s him.

They've overcommitted for sure, they'll probably tell some guys to f*** off once those guys don't develop the way Ferschweiler wants. And I'd expect Western Michigan to be active in recruiting CHLers.
