Before the puck was dropped, Adam should've skated over to both benches and had the players come to their respective benches to and issued a stern warnign that any extracurriculars would be dealt with severely. He didn't, melee ensued. I am still disappointed in Joe for pulling a guy out of the handshake line. As little respect as I have for Wheeler's mouth, I have about the same respect for Joe for that stunt. Force him to fight you on the ice during the game. Rack him up against the glass, step back and drop your gloves and take off your helmet. If he doesn't answer the call he looks completely gutless. How could one say that it is ok to just take getting assaulted when you are shaking hands? I found it weird that no camera got the footage before Finley grabs him. The main damage was in Dinkytown and Stadium Village which are not on campus, and most of the damage reported by the University to its actual property were parking facilities. yzerman19 Posted February 5, 2008 Share Posted February 5, 2008 As someone who did undergrad and got my MBA at Minnesota (all who read my posts know there is no love for Maroon and Gold hockey however) while the map is accurate as far as physical campus is concerned, dinkytown and stadium village are definitely considered "campus" by locals. In fact, the map indicates areas as "non-campus" that include a number of sorrority and fraternity houses (up and down 10th). Marcy Holmes and southeast Minneapolis (just on the other side of 35W) is also almost entirely student housing. The map clearly shows property physcially owned by the U of MN. So it's better that rather than destroying their home (campus) they're out destroying and pilaging the property of local private citizens? I would say in hockey if someone cheap shots you- and that can be verbal- you should be able to smack them, especially if they do it under the vail of a hand shake where they are using the nature of the event to preclude retaliation. Kinda like how your fine doubles in a construction zone. You get twice the reaction when you violate the sactity of the hand shake. My mommy used to call it natural consequences. About 15 yrs ago, he broke up a scrum in front of the net (at Roseau I believe) by grabbing a player in the mask.....he ended up breaking several fingers (needed surgery to repair) and had many stitches. The guy he grabbed either got punched or pushed, but either way, Buzz's hand went with. He was my health teacher at the time so we got to hear all about it. That was a game that was even more out of hand than the Sioux/Gopher game and we all know which games he did the next weekend. Apple doesn't fall too far from the family tree, eh.
