Love how the 'small minded' attack on a personal basis....and not merit based.....speaks volumes about their 'own self image'...…...They Love to attack other schools, fans, etc.....but can't accept the reality of UND's shortfalls....especially when it involves their 'tender babe'-ice hockey…..Hakstol has never won the 'big game' as a player or coach....that's reality.....

Couldn't get UND 'over the hump'....'couldn't do it in Philly either'......Wonder where he'll take his 'scowl' next...…...maybe UNLV ...or return home to Canada...ey!!!!

As one who has been banned from posting for a time and accused if being a troll...I would like to find some consistency on the part of the mods.....it's apparently ok to make fun of, call out and name call teams, fans, coaches of opponents of UND .....OK I get that, but it appears if same is done to some UND 'sacred cows', that is not Ok...namely 'anything critical of hockey, Hakstol , or the former Fighting Si**x name or logo..' I visit sports sites of a couple other universities ....and the mods of those sites do not appear to be as 'hyper sensitive/over protective' '

With the arrival of Lindsey Whalen....I think Gopher Hockey is now the #4 sport of Gopher fans...(if Gopherhole posts are the measure)….perhaps even 5th this year....with the VB team ranked #3 in latest national poll...but GF faithful can take heart...Lindsey's parents were both GF Central grads...back in the day when they were called 'Redskins'....remember that name....??? Fighting Sioux-sies….will soon be that forgotten...…...

Sioux-sie crowd's 'shots' at my postings...have no affect....I consider the source....I feel for their 'angst'...….Remember the 'Flickertail's....that's the path 'Sioux' will have with future generations......

As a veteran, on this Veteran's Day, I was at the UND FB game yesterday....was pleased to hear no 'Home of the Sioux' at end of anthem....as a veteran I am offended by the obliteration of the word 'brave' at the end of the anthem....I get that it's fun for 'college kids full of alcohol' to say that phrase....but adults...come on...snow some respect to veterans.... Only place you hear it in force is at hockey games....I wonder who the FS crowd is made at...NCAA, Native Americans????? NCAA allowed 3 universities to retain their nick name....Florida State, Utah, and Illinois...….how come ? Must be Native American tribes fault then!!!!

Two ' mainstream' UND sports won.. Niche sport dint....so not a bad sports weekend , in the grand scheme !!!!

Hockey polls released this morning...#1 UMD, # 2 St. Cloud State, #3 Minnesota State....the 'state of hockey' well represented...even minus the 'the big dog'.....Long live the memory of the 'Huffer' who lifted Duluth into collegiate hockey prominence....

Nice win for the Hawks over Sconnie…..interesting in that Minnesota State dominated the Gophers...I'd say of the MN collegiate hockey teams..Duluth and M State....#1/2 with St. Cloud #3.....with Bemidj State and Gophers 4/5, prolly in that order....

Latest hockey poll , posted Monday....Gophers 10, Fighting Hawks 14....previous comment is spot on...5-10% of any fan base are obnoxious....whether it be UND, NDSU or U. of Minnesota...one of the best are Montana Grizz fans...fun group...based upon my experience with them at 2 recent tailgate events..

Fewer and fewer calling the teams 'Sioux-sies'...which is good...reality setting in....pretty soon a distant memory....(ie. GFC-Redskins Forever...Badda bum!!!)

Just read that UNLV hockey is 'on the ice' at the arena to be used by Gophers/Hawks....watch out.....the next generation of Engelstad's are contributing to UNLV hockey...and were born/raised in Vegas.....Ralph from TRF and Betty from EGF are the ties to UND....both successive generations did not attend UND.... Just sayin'.....

Good to see Hawk fans praising an opponent and it's staff.....someone made the comment that "Hastings will be coaching at a big school soon"..,. Enrollment currently....Mankato 15,000 -UND 13,600.... I think the poster meant 'big hockey power'....

People bringing up nostalgia over the only recent UND coach NOT to win a national title....wanna clue as to who?...ie. he won't bring a 'Lord Stanley' to Philly either...book that!!!!!

Some of you are correct.....the reason for this team's faults is a nickname!!!!...the ice hockey 'culture ' at UND is the only sport that hasn't embraced the new name/logo fully....stop referring to them as 'Siou-sies'....and good karma will follow.....I know it's hard for some to join the 21st Century...(and you're still hoping for a return of women's hockey.....poor babies)

Not this year will grey be a 'huuuge' hockey power....my pre season 'rap' was ..."F'n Hawks do not make NCAA ice hockey tourney'.....no fault of coaches or administration.. Cawledge Hockey landscape has changed drastically in last 5/6 years....

Former minor league team name....will balance league at 32.teams....
